  • I personally trained with and around rory for about 3 years at Toshido in Kelowna BC right up till he moved to Montreal. We all think Lawler 2 fight stole some years from him. That was a brutal war and how the ugc treated rory right after the fight was terrible. Another story on its own.

Rory is just 33 years old and he is younger than Usman but since he started at 17 years old which is so young. interms of figthing years he is already old. He is the youngest on the era of Lawler, Woodley, Wonderboy, Condit and more.

Rory's story is the story of many fighters The old are fed to the young. They pass into legend, more ethereal than physical. Rory and every fighter that eventually hangs up their gloves deserves to be remembered, and it's our job to remember them Thanks Kiiyon
  • Should’ve told the story of how some random guy with Rory’s old number got asked to pick out Rory’s fight walkout songs. They legit thought it was Rory and the guy played along. His choices were pretty funny. Imagine Rory, this absolute killer, walking out to “we found love” by Rihanna

One of the most iconic moments in UFC history is when Rory and Lawler just stood there staring at each other when the round ended. Each probably wondering why their opponent is still standing. In that fight they both displayed unbelievable heart.
  • Rory and Robbie staring down all bloody in the middle of their rematch is one of the most legendary moments in MMA I will never forget that

Rory “Red King” MacDonald, retired at 33 just goes to show, how brutal and how diminishing this sport can be. most retire at 36-39 but that fight with Robbie really took 5+ years off his career. and possibly his life :( its called the hurt business for a reason Long live The Red King! 🇨🇦

The first time I saw Rory fight was at the first UFC event I ever attended. It was in Atlanta in 2012 and he crushed Che Mills right before my very eyes. I was an instant fan. Then he beat so many other top fighters. Then came the 2nd Lawler fight that still gives me chills when I see it. The man became a legend over time, and he deserves every bit of praise he gets.

That second fight with Lawler is IMO the greatest fight of all time. It’s near impossible to come back the same after. And neither did. He gave us some great fights, I’m glad he called it quits and could have done it earlier. Hope he does well with whatever he decides to do next

Rory had a great career despite not living up to the ceiling (we unfairly) had for him.

Hey Kiiyon I rlly like your old style of this kind of video. Where you systematically go through every fight in a fighters career. No jumping around and just showing footage from the fights. Maybe you could try that again for your next vid
  • @CoNiCuZn
I love that you still make these videos too in addition to all of your opinion pieces. Love your channel!
  • @TophatlarryOG
IDGAF I will forever see him as a champion level fighter. Will forever be a legend

The Red King. Still my personal favorite fighter to this day. He had so much potential.

I really appreciate that you made a video about Rory, similarly to when Marlon Moraes retired it feels like people had forgotten all that they had done and had put themselves through, because even though neither Rory or Marlon ever became UFC champ, they deserve to be remembered for all of the work that they put in and the wars they put themselves through.
