European Union Boycotts Hungary's Viktor Orban Over His Outreach to Russia | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban's recent Russia-Ukraine peace mission has drawn ire of the European Union. Brussels is seemingly upset with Orban's attempt to "bypass the bloc". This comes weeks after Hungary assumed the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. Tensions ensued within the bloc after Orban's recent visit to Ukraine and Russia, where he tried to play peacemaker and broker a truce between them. The Hungarian Prime Minister even went on to advise Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to accept ceasefire. In retaliation to Orban's outreach to Russia, EU's top diplomat, Josep Borrell is hosting a rival meeting in Brussels, which was earlier supposed to be held in Hungary's capital Budapest.
