This is the 1st piece of film I've seen with children in it. I can't imagine all the confusion and terror they must've felt and how hard it was for their parents to explain that to them
  • Imagine going from panicking that you are late for work. to it being the biggest blessing in your life.
  • Asbestos, fiberglass, dioxins, lead, sulfuric acid - to this day, no one knows the exact mix of the one million tons of debris and dust that filled the air and streets of Manhattan, but the consequences are well known. Coughing, shortness of breath and chest pains were just the beginning. What's dangerous is that even many years later, illnesses can still arise as a result of the 9/11 tragedy..

I loved how the people with boats came to Manhattan island and helped the ppl escape since at the time everything was closed, people helping people I love that

Not enough coverage or credit to the water rescuers. They were also heroes that day.

Those men who made it into the boat were very blessed that day. 😢 so sad for those who lost their lives.

I just watched this video today, I had no idea there was this footage of boat people helping to evacuate others from Manhattan. Thank you, boat people! You are the best of the best!

Wow, I've seen a LOT of 9/11 footage, but never from this angle. Thanks for the upload.

Your camera seems to be better than all the news casters cameras

This footage is VERY important. It shows the towers were NOT brought down by controlled blasts.

2:12 WOW, you can see that part of it was actually still standing briefly. This is an incredible video

These scenes are still unbelievably horrific no matter how many times you come back to them. 20 yrs already RIP

I was today years old when I learned that people were using their own boats to help people escape. I was 16 years old when this happened and now at 38, I still remember this as if it were yesterday. I will never forget. WE will never forget ❤🇺🇸

I could only imagine the feeling of relief as soon as he yelled “Alright, now I want you guys to get your ass onto this boat now, let’s get out of here”
  • @fletch61
You don't hear much about the boats helping to rescue people !
  • I can't even imagine what it was like for these people, their final moments filled with pure, primal terror... it makes my heart clench and my stomach hurt.

Was in school then as a kid and just heard over the intercoms about the first Tower falling and then the second. I didn't see my mom (now a former nurse but helped everyone then) that day until midnight. The hospital she worked in nearby was overfilled with patientss coming over from the tremendous amount of ash and debris filling their lungs. First time seeing this footage and clear shot of one of the towers clearly giving from the damage........praise these river rescusers and everyone that helped that day.
  • the sound of the tower collapsing sends a chill down my spine because this might be the only footage where you don't hear anyone screaming....just the sound of crushing concrete
