Ginebra in the middle of their rebuilding era in the 90's. Ginebra won only a total of 26 wins from 1993 to 1995. Ginebra's rebuilding started in late 1991 after SMC acquired Ginebra from the Palancas. After that majority of the players part of that 1991 championship were traded. Ginebra focused on getting big names in the amateur league like Noli Locsin, Bal David, and Marlou Aquino who will be an important part of that champion team of Gordon's Gin in the 1997 Commissioners Cup.

Lalo na pagdating ng 1995 season lagi silang kulelat. Kung baga shinu-sureball na nila ang first round first pick na si Marlou Aquino. Those were the days back then. My early twenties.
