  • Go Leslie Go! I just saw the 20 steps method video of Cochlearius and yours immediatly after. I will try composing one of my one and if it's half as your fugue even with the mistakes, i would be satisfied.

  • In measures 7-8 you've got the tone d resolving upward to e, that's a mistake. Because of this, you have parallel fifths (g#-d, a-e), which are thankfully not both perfect, but still sound a bit off. The best way to think about it is that it is the 4th degree of the local key (a minor) as a dissonance (diminished fifth), so it should resolve downwards, to degree 3 (c) (fa -> mi), while at the same time, 7th degree in the bass (g#) resolves upwards to degree 1 (a) (mi -> fa). In other words, it's 6/5 chord resolving into 5/3. Or in more modern terms, d is the seventh of the "dominant seventh chord", which always resolves downwards.
