We All Been Lied To: Let This Sink In ....

Good evening, Tessie! You totally nailed it! I am seeing my income drop by about $1800.00/mo because I just retired. BUT - I have enough income month over month to pay my bills, buy my groceries and even have a third of my income left over for whatever I want to do with it. I am abundantly blessed and I will be making more careful choices. Right now, my son, DIL and 3 grand kids are living with me and this is such joy that I cannot describe it. They will be moving in a year but in the meantime, I cherish every day! I am having to alter how I cook because of food allergies, but that in itself is a joy because I am learning other recipes and cuisines that I did not have to before. Thank you for all you do.

We have a small auto shop that does simple tire repairs. We are blessed it is only 2 minutes driving time from us. Most of the time, we have minor questions, like today, when the air seemed to be leaking out of the tire, we verified it was not, and only paid a few dollars. Many times, this guy charges nothing for tiny things, but inspects the vehicle. He comes from a great Christian family. It is great that some people just want to make a living without price gouging others.

Some people priorities are really out of control and they can't see the trees for the forest. It is the little things in life that mean everything to me and those are God's blessings. I also live on very little and I enjoy my small home and what I have and what God has given me and blessed me with.

The more simple the better it is. We all need to take our time and smell the roses. As long as we do our work that needs to be done and not slack off. Money doesn’t buy happiness. We often see rich people who are not happy. We often see poor people who are happy. We need to take life and live it to our fullest. Life is what we make it. Have a great evening everyone!

So true. We built a small modest home in a more rural neighborhood to raise our family with our values. Now, over 20 years later, people have started moving in building Mcmansion style and trying to change our HOA. It's so disappointing. Home flippers want our home so badly so they can do the same. I love our home, but sadly, it's time to move on.

Hi Tessie I was raised to know growing your own food was important. My grandparents lived right down the road beside us in a farm. We my family lived in a trailer in the next field. I grew up knowing that not everyone is rich you make due with what you have. We weren't poor, but my parents taught me to be humble and grateful. This world we live in is so greedy now. I am glad that some of us can see what is important in this life and while money is nice it isn't everything.

You are so correct Tessie. My husband calls it just being reasonably content. Money does not bring happiness for sure. So many today are driven by keeping up with others and trying to attain way more than is necessary. We sure are not taking any of this with us.

I bought the Simple Abundance book many years ago. I enjoy it still even today. A simple life is what I live. I don't have the best nor do I have the worst. I try to just be thankful for what God has given me.

God is so good and when we don’t chase the treasures this world holds, but instead do His holy work with our lives, then we are building eternal treasures that will last forever.
