The fact he set the bug down thinking he wasn’t going to try to get away is so funny to me lmao
-
That poor bug knows how dangerous it is. It was very patient with him and only wanted to fly away to go about its own business. Also gently tapped him as a warning the first time. What a good boy he is!
-
The bug is so chill 😂 hes like Sir you are being really inconvenient right now can you just leave ~

Imagine if the assassin bug (or any of the other bugs) could comprehend the insanity of this video. "This creature is forcing me to hurt him, at risk of getting parasites, so that he can see how much it hurts . . . How are these two legged psychos not extinct?"
-
One thing I've noticed about a lot of these videos is they show how non-aggressive many of these bugs are until they feel threatened. Most don't just instantly bite, they have to be aggravated first.
-
“If it flies I’m gonna spring into action” This is quite different from my behavior if it flies
-
"this bite could kill you" takes the bite anyways
-
‘It doesn’t fly’ Proceeds to fly away 😂

When it's too wild for Coyote, he sends Marc.

I like how the bite wasn't fast either the bug was just gently taps "Hey buddy could you let me go please"

The most known vector of Chagas disease here in Brazil is the Barbeiro. It is more commonly found in wattle-and-daub houses and is a blood-sucking insect. The transmission is quite disgusting, as the bug defecates near the bite site, and scratching can sometimes spread the feces with the protozoan that causes the disease in the wound.

assassin bug: "WHY IS THIS GUY CHASING ME, PISS OFF"
-
I'll never stop questioning why bugs are extremely powerful especially relative to their size.
-
"I gotta go again, I gotta go again!" 🤣🤣That's a hero right there. Respect.

this makes a great reference for toxicology and venomics, thank you for your contributions to science 🤝

The most painful sting of my life was administered by a small assassin bug in central Argentina. It was black with a yellow spot on its back, and came to lights in fair numbers. Only about 12 mm long, so not one of the larger species. Unlike the larger species, which often are quite phlegmatic (like this red species), this thing drilled me in the thumb the instant I picked it up, and it felt like a railroad spike dipped in acid. It was shockingly painful, far worse than a hornet or bee sting. Most of my thumb was discolored, and the discoloration lasted for a month. By the way, it was not the "vinchuca," the larger conenose assassin bug that spreads Chagas-Mazza. So if you're ever in Argentina, beware of these little guys! They're found in pampas, not in rainforest, so I suspect they are not as well known as iconic rainforest stingers like the bullet ant.

One thing to note, Chagas is only found in the feces of kissing bugs (which has a painless bite) which make it an obvious identifier. Still good to get tested though!

"This bug has a venom that can dissolve the insides of it's victims. Now, let's talk about why this is dangerous for me to get bitten by." Had me rolling lol

“This bug could send me to the hospital” Him casually holding the bug
