Costa concordia got lucky it was close to land. Can you imagine what would happen if she hit something either in the middle Atlantic or Pacific what kind of mess that would be?

I feel bad for the ship, and it's passengers. I don't say this a lot about cruise ships, but the Costa Concordia was a really beautiful ship.... sad

Ever since the sinking of the Oceanos back in 1991, I always thought Captain Avranas (the captain of the Oceanos) was a modern-day maritime coward, but after the sinking of the Concordia 21 years later, Captain Schettino took it to a whole new level.
