Just got this nice piece of vintage video equipment. It needs new belts at the moment but I'll change them soon.

This was our family's first VCR. Unfortunately, by the late 90s, the motor became so noisy that you could hardly hear the television over the din. I love the design, especially the tape transport buttons.

I had exactly the same video in 1996, and it was still working! Now i bought an HR-XV2, and everything is working fine! Only JVC! Best brand ever!

The flap changes when you put in a tape so you can tell if there's a tape inside! (0:22) vs (0:40) How does it do that?

I have one of these. At first the 'TIMER' light was pulsing, and the unit would not power on. Tearing down and putting back together solved this, but unfortunately, playback will not work. The machine pulls the tape against the video head drum, you hear some motors struggling, then the tape is wound back into the cassette. Fast forward and rewind work, but that's it !

I still have a Thomson V320 that is an OEM version of this model but with a different (and much more boring) front panel.
