  • I would be happy with an electronic version of the Historical rules.
  • @doncossack1016
I'm still using my 1st Ed rulebook and having a great time! Thanks for the excellent review. It was just what I was looking for.
  • @MrRugbylane
The beauty of the ring binder was that one could reorganise charts in the order you wanted
  • @joeperez3520
Just got this bundle myself, since I figured it was about time, I started learning the system.

What I loved was being an early adopter only to have bundle come out a few weeks afterword. Enjoyed the video. Wish they would make these oversized for my old eyes. Heck I’d pay more… oh wait I did.

Why is Chapter S, the Solitaire Module no longer included in any of the formats? I'm not an experienced player and I own the first three Starter kits, and I also own an old copy of the ring binder rule book. I really like the Solitaire rules and was hoping it would be in the PDF version, but it's not in any of them now.

15:10 NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I need that cheapass 3 ring binder!!! My pet DODO loves the texture of the shredded 1st ed. paper in his cage
  • @toddalancox
Hey what a great tip to have the binding sliced off and the book spiral bound. I did this with both the rulebook and the chapter H. Also let me take out chapter K to make the book a little bit smaller. Thanks!
  • @johnpayne498
Nice presentation. Mine just arrived as well. Just looking through it all it still amazes me..... this little system.
  • @kdziarmaga
As always, great review, great material. Thanks Neal!
  • @StewsReplay
Great Background comments on all the items and uses!!! A+
  • @crasher303
Agree the charts seem a rushed job. H is very useful. Hope they do the historical modules next.
  • @Holdit66
I was hoping that MMP would make more use of the Wargame Vault system (i.e. licensed PDFs) for other out of print titles as they have for the ASL Journal and ASL Annual publications. ABTF @ say, €40 is a no-brainer. ABTF for €400+ second hand, no thanks.
  • Nice video. I am wondering if any discoloration will occur for often used charts? This is what happened to my old Rat Charts. An electronic copy would also be an asset.
  • Basic SL was enough for me, I bought ALS but never played it.
  • @HissyCat
"This is ALL you need to learn to play ASL" best line of the video....lol
  • Would you recommend these to someone who has the starter kits but has yet to try the full game?
  • @jfuente
I so guess there are two basic options for getting started as a complete newbie: 1) acquiring the starter kits and expansions and 2) picking up the ASL pocket bundle and an appropriate module? I suppose the starter kits were designed prior to the wealth of online tutorials and were similar to the example of play chapter you mentioned in this overview. It almost seems if one was planning on sticking around in ASL, the more efficient option would be #2, though I guess it would entirely hinge on the appropriate selection of a module... or am I just inferring way too much into your comment about these being all you would need to have to learn to play (combined w/ tutorials on here/etc). If that is the case, any standout recommendations on modules?
