It's like I'm listening to a lecture about myself. How have I existed for almost 40 years and nobody has picked up on this. I don't understand.

Taking 80 minutes to watch a 40 minute video because I'm reading comments, replying and replaying bits at 2 A.M. And meanwhile being on edge because I can't sleep and have an appointment early tomorrow for my ADHD. The struggle is real.
  • I wish I had known about my ADHD before the age of 52. Mostly I am fine but other days I feel I have been robbed of vital life skills.
  • I didn't come here to listen to you describe all my flaws and excuses! But I'm impressed and grateful.

I'm 42 years old and for the first time in my life I am actually taking my ADHD seriously and seeking treatment. I have an appointment tomorrow as a matter of fact with a psychiatrist for the first time. I'm concerned that it will not go well, but I'm ready to give it my all. I was originally diagnosed at 5 years old and my life has been plagued by the adversity of this condition. It is only now for the first time that I have been able to come to grips with the havoc ADHD has had on my life and am taking action.

Dr. Brown is seriously brilliant and CLEAR! I'm 63. Although I've been casually aware of some symptoms throughout my life, I thought they were somehow normal. Dr. Brown brings clarity to a priorly fuzzy topic. I now can see the/my situation, and am working on options/methods to function better. Thanks so much!

I am a 5th year medical student with adhd from Greece and I study in an english program of a university in Bulgaria , all I have to say is that adhd is against you till the moment you know how to use it for you. All those people with adhd need 1st of all to learn how their mind works and how to use it because what I've learned through my years studying something difficult like medicine in a country that people don't have the best accent or the best teaching skills is that every day was a bit of a challenge for me to understant and keep and finally organise all these information witch were provided to me in a very difficult way and at the same time maintain a good social and personal life, and all these challenges were keeping my mind alerted and that helped to move on even in the most dificult times when the distractions were many. My point here is that people with adhd shouldn't be putted in a bubble made of special treatment and medications .. people with adhd should go more often out of their comfort zone and do what challenges them...adhd brain is the "hunters" brain and it must be challenged to feel good , satisfied and complete...Find your superpowers and seek the challenge....that way you will learn how to increase your dopamine levels naturally and you will form a good reward system . USE YOUR ADHD !!

This man is fascinating, I have ADHD that was untreated when i was an adolescent, while i did smoke weed it wasnt my favorite and did nothing for my ADHD, i got addicted to meth, it at first seemed to be the best thing ever and i was able to focus and do the things I couldn't before. It almost killed me. I got sober 21 years ago and I'm on the proper meds for my ADHD and my life is so much better, I can function with my daily tasks and pay my bills. It's not perfect but better than not being on medication

I want to cry. This has been my life. This stupid struggle in my head and not understanding it.
  • I'm a college student with ADHD, taking notes about the reading I'm doing on a separate paper is very helpful for me actually processing the information
  • I'm 30 and my son was diagnosed with ADHD he's a chip off the ol block. I went to see a psychiatrist and she wouldn't even acknowledge that I might have ADHD I'm so frustrated because I might lose my job I don't know what to do because the psychiatrist thought that I was just trying to score drugs or something. I am struggling everyday just to make it to work on time and do basic tasks. I have a new baby and I can barely cope I know that I could be a better mom and worker if I could get some help but I'm so discouraged I don't want people to think I'm just some junkie.

I'm 41, had always struggled in school. Looking back it was from since first few years of school that i can see the behaviours & learning difficulties. Have never read a book in my life, have wanted to, have bought books over the years but no they don't get read... I can read stuff on google that interests me, i can hear talks on you tube that are of interest. I first decided to hear about ADD/ADHD a couple of years ago from Gabor Mate & now come across this Man Thomas. Very interesting & happy to hear someone talking about myself & who actually gets me... 🙏 👏👏👏 Love from WA 🇦🇺

I always felt that it's very cruel to write off these problems as an issue of "willpower", as my teachers and parents tended to do, although I'm pretty sure at least my dad also had ADD and my mom might have it too somewhat. I'm 34 and I think my mother now finally understands that the reason I can't finish assignments has nothing to do with willpower but with being unable to manage my own time.
  • Every single thing he said about going to College....is so try for me. I’m in the process of getting diagnosed with ADD. Yes, there’s a possibility I don’t have it...but my doctor and counselor believe I have it and I relate to 85% of these symptoms. It effects my life drastically 😰
