IDK how Yebba remains one of the most underrated artists of our time. The only explanation is that she is so advanced, it'll be YEARS before she is fully appreciated. She brings me closer to God than Ive ever felt. Time.Stands.Still.

This is utterly sad; I just found out that her mom committed suicide after Abbey's performance of "My Mind". She changed her name to Yebba shortly after and made this song as a tribute to her; and even sang this in the church her mother attended. May she rest in peace.

The story behind so much of Yebba's music is heartbreaking, but the way she infuses the yearning she has for her late mother into her songwriting is as spiritually annointed as it is technically superb, and hauntingly poetic. When you look across the current musical landscape and look at the quality of output from today's young creatives, it's clear Yebba will be an artist for the ages.
