Masterpiece. Finneas production is out of this world

My interpretation: She is closed in that building, probably it's a methapor of her mental state, she tries to scape alone but in the middle of it, she meets him and he helps her to escape, we can see he is already abusiv3 with her. When she is out she is calm, feeling herself again and she is even smiling...BUT, she sings again: " OPEN UP THAT DOOR" She can't let him go because he helped her in a very difficult time and even tho he is abusive she can't let him go (trauma bond). At the end, they fight , they got physical but the last thing she does is to smile (I don't know if it was done on purpose or Billie broke character while filming but knowing how meticulous this young woman is I think it was doing on purpose), she is now outside that mental cage (that building) but now she is trapped in a abusive relationship and she doesn't even know it, she laughs lik if it was a game or it's a trauma response which means the abus3 has damaged her in a very deep level. The reference ro the brilliant Spirited Away is becsuse the protagonist Chihiro is trapped in a fantastic and magic land, so this could be pointing out maybe she starts to suffer psychosis episode due to that trauma?(breaking with the reality) Or she wants to be Chihiro and scape(again) to an unreal world?
  • Each door symbolises a different scenario that she’s recounted over and over in her head. She shuts all the doors, then opens the exit to be met with a strong gust of wind, sobering. She’s alone but finds herself running away from her past. He grabs her, not allowing her to leave, but she loves this. Two lovers, unrequited in their own love for each other. A dying flame, fuelled by the “what-if’s” behind every door.

proof that art doesn't have to be expensive...

At such a young age, she is already a complete and highly evolved artist, intelligent and mature enough to create songs and references. I'm proud to be a fan 🫴🏻🇧🇷

This music video perfectly captures the essence of a toxic relationship. Billie is a true artist.

billie playing with her hair while singing and smiling into the camera looking absolutely gorgeous LIKE WHAT ABOUT OUR MENTAL HEALTH BILLIE 😩
  • nothing beats the Brazilian version they made of this melancholic song 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
  • The instrumental is intoxicating. It's almost like Billie's vocals took a back seat, to let the beat shine but they did it on purpose

The way she portrayed the toxic relationship in the best way possible and the DIRECTING HELLOO !!!?????
  • @cyberPro232
She’s not a singer. She’s an artist with amazing vocals ❤
  • THE WAY AT THE END SHE REPRESENTS THAT BEING IN A TOXIC RELATIONSHIP IS LIKE DROWNING

I got literal Chills when the synth-wave in background started to increase gradually at 1:50 and 4:10 … It’s the soul of this song … 🥹
