  • You forgot to mention the Ps2 console was the first one that could play DVD movies and TV shows. It's what made it feel more like a home entertainment centre than just a game console.
  • So sad what happened with SEGA. First console was a Dreamcast and I still to this day feel it was ahead of its time
  • This video is a fantastic blast from the past! As a gamer who grew up with these iconic consoles, it's so cool to see them in action again. I'm amazed by the evolution of gaming technology over the years. And that fun fact about the PS3 controller turning on the system is mind-blowing! Thanks for taking us on this nostalgic journey, and I'd love to see more videos like this in the future. 🎮😊

I can't believe you didn't mention the DVD player in the PlayStation 2. It is undeniably the reason why it's sold so well. DVD players were really expensive at the time so you could get a game console and a DVD player for cheaper in some cases than just a DVD player. It was literally a game changer.

This concept of moving through the history of a product and seeing its evolution is so fun! U should definitely do more of them on the Nintendo, Xbox etc.

Bro the PSP was revolutionary, no idea why is isn’t in this video
  • In the late 1990s the OG PlayStation controller was upgraded to the DualShock, later called the DualShock 1 once the PS2 was released with its own iteration of the technology. I remember getting a PlayStation in 1998 and the grey controllers already had analogue sticks and rumble.

That's crazy man! Its so cool to see all these old PlayStations compared to newer ones! This is so nostalgic too!
  • Something you didn't mention about the PS3, the reason it launched with such a high price tag was they had physically integrated a PS2 inside of the system so it had the ability to play PS1, PS2, and PS3 games natively with hardware (not through software emulation) This allowed for full backwards compatibility for all of their titles but drastically increased the manufacturing costs As they released different Iterations of the Fat PS3 they slowly removed these features until it was strictly subpar software emulation People like to say they want backwards compatibility but if they really did they would have to pay for it, and history shows people don't want to pay for it...

Fun fact: The PS3 wireless controller could actually turn the system on too! Loved the trip through nostalgia!

I remember switching on HD for the first time on the PS3. I was playing RE5, and I was confused by how blurry the game was. I realised I had forgotten to turn on the setting in the video settings and my mind was officially mind blown. Everything was so sharp, and so crisp that I didn't even know how I put up with SD. I do like the only ascetics of older consoles, but once I hit ps3 I need to have it in HD

Utterly Brilliant Video! p.s. how did he not spend a simple second on the EPIC ps 1 intro sound !
  • this is honestly one of the best ways to see how far technology has come in such a small time span
  • Sony entering the market with their own system was actually due to a backstab from Nintendo. Sony intended to enter the market with the Nintendo Playstation, where Sony proveded the CD drive part of the system and create exclusive games for it. DEV kits were already available and some prototypes still exist. The project was basically finished when Nintendo pulled the plug, thinking cds were inferior to cartridges, and developed their side of the system into the Nintendo 64. Sony had put so much funds into already that they decided to also complete the system and compete with Nintendo with their disc based 3d game console. It is hard to say who won. Both created an entire own side of the gaming market that grew alongside eachother and coexist without either side losing sales when the other does well, or gains from it the other falters. There WAS a big loser though: Sega was completely pushed out of the market is just a decade, now reduced to a 2nd party dev studio for mainly Nintendo.
  • just found this content, love these kind of vids man! Nice Unboxing and review vid~!

2:25 square is used for inventory because it’s a square like your inventory would be and triangle for perspective
