Today, we’re going to talk about fish oil benefits and the importance of omega-3 fatty acids. Both cod liver oil and fish oil contain omega-3 fatty acids, with the addition of vitamin A and vitamin D in cod liver oil.

Around 25% of the fat in your brain is the omega-3 fatty acid, DHA. Most of this fat is in the frontal cortex, which supports memory, focus, concentration, and attention. DHA supports the integrity of the membranes around the neurons and supports the retina. It also protects against inflammation, UV radiation, and macular degeneration.

Omega-3 fatty acids keep skin smooth and protect against acne, psoriasis, eczema, dry skin, red skin, and ultraviolet light. They can also help remineralize bone, decrease the risk of osteoporosis, and improve arthritis and joint inflammation.

Taking cod liver oil or fish oil for 30 days has even more potential benefits, including the following:
•Supports liver health
•Helps regulate blood sugar
•Helps reverse insulin resistance
•Supports inside of the arteries
•Reduces symptoms of asthma and allergies
•Supports fertility
•Helps eliminate soreness and inflammation after exercise

Avoid choosing fish oil based on price alone. Some fish oils are poor quality and may be rancid or oxidized. Know the source of your fish oil to avoid getting a product contaminated with heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, or mercury.

Fish oil and cod liver oil may taste like fish, but they shouldn’t have a rancid taste. To minimize the taste, try looking for supplements in pearl form.

Omega-3 foods include fatty fish such as wild-caught salmon, herring, mackerel, and sardines. Shellfish and grass-fed dairy products also contain omega-3 fatty acids.

  • I take Wild Pacific Salmon Oil and Wild Norwegian Cod Liver Oil for many years. Both oils are rich in Omega 3. These oils have tremendously improved my vision, cardiovascular and cognitive function. I had arthritis on the back of my neck which caused headaches. These oils got rid of the inflammation and no more pain or headaches for several years now.
  • You didn't share your experience. I was watching video to listen your experience 😂😂😂
  • @Straiada
Please change the title. At no point do you speak of "your experience" by itself, but of how Omega 3 works. What's more so is that you do a really good job of describing it, so why the misleading title?
  • @eclaire1
You didn’t answer the question - what happened after 30 days?
  • @shervin6711
Disappointed, I thought you were going to show " what happened after 30 days of YOU taking fish oil" As the title states. Possibly labs/ other things. Please change your title. I doubt you were trying to be misleading. But it is confusing.

I took fish oil for 30 days and now i can swim faster than ever😮
  • @TheLucylin
What happened after 30 days? What oceans are safe? Which brands don’t process in China? What to look for on the label? These are the questions that really need to be answered. Anyone can Google the benefits of fish oil and cod liver oil.

Dr. Berg doesn't explain on camera HIS experience, but if you drop down the video description, he posted a list of what happens to the body after 30 days on Omega-3s. Just trying to be helpful.

  • Yo stop with these weird thumbnails you are a doctor not a tiktoker have some selfrespect
  • Title of video should be “ I’m not gonna tell you what happened, after I took fish oil for 30 days” lol🤷🏻‍♂️

I've stopped taking Fish Oil from supplements because of the new studies that show that fish oils are very sensitive to oxidization (not being stored in low temperatures can cause this as well as overtime oxidization and others) and when this oils oxidize they release harmful components that have been shown to have negative impact on our body and health like bad skin elasticity and others. Instead I just eat fresh salmon or fish once in a while, and I have been adding flax seeds to my diet to get Omegas ever since, I just add a daily tbsp of blended flax seed mixed with some water and it works great!, I've been giving this mix to my mom and it has greatly relieved her Peripheral Neuropathy, I just think this is worth mentioning and useful information to look at. (BTW I threw away my vitamin A and Beta-carotene supplement pills and just bought some carrots lol, sometimes natural sources are just the best option)

A fish oil with DPA (docosapentaenoic acid), the third most prevalent omega-3 fatty acid, is a fish oil with integrity! DPA omega-3 plays an important role in the gut and microbiome. Thanks a bunch! Have a great day, y'all!.
  • When I was a child, many years ago, living in Missouri, we had no access to cod, or other ocean caught fish, but my mother would make us take a large tablespoon of cod liver oil, every day, especially in the winter. We would have salmon patties (from canned salmon) several times a month. We had freshwater fish at least once a week, (more in the summertime since we caught them) and a salad with every meal. There was always fruit available. We also had grass-fed beef, pork, or chicken with at least one or two meals daily. Green veggies at least twice a day. Home-made bread and usually fruit-filled pies or cake most days. My mother was intuitively smart about our diets and she set us up to eat properly. I still eat well, though less meat now. With my handful of supplements (including krill oil, no meds) I am a very, very healthy 77-year-old.

  • As someone who can't go anywhere without epi pens l found that taking 1,200mg concentrated omega-3 really helped me. I was lucky enough to have found one with added natural orange flavor. I have been taking it for 3 years now. Thank you Dr. Berg for all the new things I've learned from this post.

Dr. Berg, I totally respect you as a medical doctor and I truly enjoy your videos... but the title of this video is indeed misleading (many complaints below). I choose to give you the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake and perhaps it was your staff who came up with this title as a click bait and not created by you directly. The subject matter of Omega-3 fatty acids is incredibly important and I am reminded once again to take them more regularly. In my book, you're all good... but you really should change the title to reflect the actual message of this video, cuz I'm curious just like everyone else as to what happened after 30 days of taking Omega-3 fish oil. Keep up the great work, doc! :) cheers!
