The biggest shock wasn't the movie but the fact that this guy really existed ......

It takes courage to keep walking forward when everyone, including your own body, is screaming at you to stop.
  • The best part is when he says, "doctor you don't know what kind of a man I am".

I love the line “what’s the biggest lie they ever told you?” And he answers “it’s not that simple.” Interviewer: what’s not that simple? And he says “no that’s the biggest lie they tell you, it’s not that simple.” “?” “That it is. It is that simple. If you just do the thing they say you can’t, then it’s done.”

“That’s not enough for me. I need to be able to fight again.” I just broke my leg at airborne school today. This one line is the thing I needed to hear tonight.

The best part is when he says, “I need you to start training me again.”

As a boxer, I get goosebumps and chills from watching this

I suffered a childhood injury. The doctors said the same exact thing to my parents...that I would never be able to walk again. I managed to ween myself off my leg braces, 4 surgeries on both legs, wheelchairs, crutches and canes. Several decades later I still walk everyday without a cane. Never underestimate the human spirit. God Bless Vinny Paz.

Too brave! I couldn't imagine risking life to do boxing after a fusion, indomnidable courage or flat out stupidity! But wow, just wow.

Miles Teller is one of Hollywood's most underrated actors, yet one of the best. In every movie he is in he embodies the character so well that it leaves an imprint on your soul. His acting in both this film and Whiplash are at the same time both mesmerizing and phenomenal you can not look away.

He knew the price. It was to meekly live as a cripple or to fight, maybe to die, but he would die as he lived... fighting. The upside would be he would regain his life, career, and dignity. It seems like an easy choice to me. Living does NOT just mean simply breathing...To truly live is to do it on your terms and thrive.

This hits hard for me. I broke my neck and battled through it to then get in the best shape of my life. It's a mindset...

So moving it brings tears to my eyes, the human spirit is such an incredible and overlooked thing. Best line for me was: "Show me who you are!"

This guy is simply straight up tough.

Hey everyone today is Day 1 of my journey to get out of bad phase. I will keep you updated ❤

Injured my ACL 2nd time, finding it really hard to play sport again, the uncertainty and fear eats away at me everytime I stand up. Vinny is my motivation to keep going and do my very best each day to recover and be able to do the thing I love most. When the body hits the deck only the mind can give it a hand to stand back up.

Movie and the music backing it were the best match I’ve ever seen!!
  • nah bruh, best part is: "you risking your life" "MY life?... Upstairs?" Showing how he cannot accept being a 'shut in cripple' per say.
  • Just learned about this man existence realizing that he was going through the worst part of his life while me being only a couple months old in 91. There's really no excuses. WOW
