Epson EcoTank ET 3850 review

Published 2024-01-03
As a printer and plotter technician, the Epson Eco-Tank seems to fit the bill. The most annoying thing about printers is that they run out of ink way too soon. Let's test this printer and see what happens.

Very good video. This is very helpful because I was also looking to purchase this same exact model from Costco in the states. Even though Office Depot have it a little cheaper, I rather buy from Costco due to easier return policy. I believe those Costco also offer that printer with 2 extra black ink bottles. Well will go get the printer sometime this week and see how it goes. Since you are very technical with printers. Would like your take on refilling with the manufacturer's ink vs cheaper 3rd party inks for the 3850.
  • Yes. Men with handlebar mustaches must be aware all the time. You will indeed see me occasionally adjusting my Mustache. It's a guy thing...

Can you turn this into a sublimation printer? If so, what kind of sublimation ink would you use ?

Sir your video was full of great information that isn't really provided elsewhere. Thank you. Keyed ink bottles is genius. Good info on how they rate printed pages. Can you verify the function of the ADF and double sided scanning? Is it truly automatic or does it require flipping the stack and running it though again?
