The Rook worths 5 points and are placed at the corner of the chess board, Which means each player gets 2 rooks in a match.
After rooks there comes Knights which is of worth 3 point. Knights are placed just after the Rook.
After knights we place the 3rd piece that is the Bishop which is also of 3 points. Next comes Queen, which is of worth 9 points. If you get white pieces then you need to place your Queen in the light square. Similarly Black queen is placed in the dark square.

Pawn moves only in one direction, that is towards opponent side. If a pawn if moving for the very first time, It can move 1 square or 2 square. After it 1st move, a pawn can be pushed to only one square in a move.
