Im a 38 yr old mexican guy from the ghetto in south central LA. I come back to this video every year. Hello from 2024
-
Black, white, Jewish, or Peuto Rican Mr. Sammy Davis was one of THE greatest entertainers to ever grace a stage, club, or movie set! Sammy you are greatly missed! 🥲
-
Still here in 2024!
-
Oh the time, when music was still music, and singers could sing.
-
He's not singing a song, he's telling a story. A priceless performance.

I worked in the Grosvenor House Hotel in London in 1970's In one week he did eight concerts, midnight matinees on the Friday and Saturday. Lionel Blair was the support act. I have never witnessed more powerful performances nor such colossal crowd reaction. Some of the biggest names in showbusiness, Mama Cass, Cat Stevens, Roger Moore Joan Collins ...he brought tears to their eyes through his singing dancing and stories of life...his own. I was a wine butler in the Great Room. None of us who worked that week would ever forget what we'd witnessed

Any black person who thrived during his time was a superhero. The racism he had to overcome was truly nuclear level. Respect
-
This man was an absolute gift from God to all of us. I have never forgotten his smile and beautiful renditions of song and dances. Proudly I think of him as the real Song and Dance man.
-
Who ever was a better showman? Who ever had more talent?
-
He isn't just singing this song. He is living it.
-
In my opinion, this is the only singer who has a more beautiful voice than Elvis. A great and very sad song.
-
There’s a reason that the lights on the Strip were turned off to honor him after his passing.
-
My grandpa sang this on my birthday. It was the last performance he ever did. It was magical. 5 days later he died. I come here and cry everytime.
-
I caught this purely by fluke. I’m still crying as I type my comment. I was a little boy when I seen this on t.v and Mr. Sammy Davis Jr captured my heart then as he has now. It was a time of happiness for me and my family. Mr. Davis was the epitome of a stage performer and was all class and grace. I was going to get into how today’s performers rarely show their talent or lack there of but Sammy Davis Jr. does it the best. Thank you for the memories…

This is 2024 and I still listen to Sammy Davis Jr. He is one of my favorite entertainers. I always love to see him perform Mr. Bojangles. 😊😎❤
-
Unlike a majority of today's "artists" there's a confidence AND humility in the performance. A true and highly talented performer. RIP Sammy
-
What a tragically beautiful thing it is to fall in love with a man who took his last breath before I took my first. A perfect performer he was.
-
We don’t have pure entertainers like this anymore ! One of the all time best ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-
Dam that was great. Pure class. We lost class along the way..

I'm 71 and have seen everyone. You are the greatest entertainer I have ever seen. Hope I meet you in heaven ..rip
