The reason why this is so funny is because chinese has a very different grammar structure, and its character based. When you translate an english sentence into chinese, you get a string of characters whose subject/verb/noun order may not be the same as in english. Also, these characters can mean different things depending on their context. This project splits the chinese sentence into individual characters and retranslates them, removing all context and playing on the ambiguity of these context-less characters. They're then strung back together, in English words but still with chinese grammar structure, before being translated one more time normally to smooth out any capitalization unevenness.
