I’ve been playing saxophone for almost 30 years now, with a major emphasis in classical, chamber, and big band. I decided in 2022 it was finally time to start “paying my dues” and learning jazz improvisation. Much of my content is going to be progress uploads for myself to monitor my own progress, but I may also expand into tips and tricks that I’ve figured out over a lifetime of playing.

I always welcome feedback, because I'm all about improvement. I’m a member of Jay Metcalf's BetterSax Studio.

My setups:

Soprano: Cannonball Big Bell Global Series, Rousseau JDX 7 mouthpiece
Alto: Yamaha YAS-875 Custom, Beecher L8L
Tenor: Yamaha YTS-875 Custom, Beecher L8L
Bari: Cannonball Stone Series, Jody Jazz HR* 8

I use Legere or Fibracell reeds depending on what I have in my bag and all my ligatures are Rovner “light” because I don’t believe ligatures matter at all and one screw is more convenient than two.
