The Kia and Hyundai group have come so far in the past 5 years producing these rather unexpectedly awesome vehicles, especially in their EV division.

As someone who works at the KIA design studio, and saw this car from sketch, to concept, to production has been such a cool experience, I’m glad people seem to be liking this car! It was fun to work on (:

I have literally 0 interest in cars but somehow this is slowly becoming my comfort channel.

I just did a 2000km road trip in this car (GT Line), driving from the Swedish southwest up north and back. It's a fantastic vehicle indeed. Excellent charging performance (flat curve, if you pre-heat accordingly you'll see 160-180kW+ speeds even at 15% and 75-80% state of charge. Very reassuring to drive, very comfortable and as you say LOADS of tech - with most of it being focused on actual everyday usability rather than just cool gimmicks to show off to your nerdy friends (aka Mercedes EQ models). I love that i can just charge my cameras and drones while driving. Also, the paus mode (aka "camping mode") works perfectly. The car pulled only 10% battery running overnight as a campervan. Cheers!
  • As someone with a lot of siblings, the feature to switch from charging to charging + data transfer is CRIMINALLY underrated. “No mom, I don’t want my phone connect to the cars system rn. Just needed to charge.” That’s a feature that came from someone who’s had that experience, props to KIA

Kia is currently the master at bringing good looking cars at an affordable price. Like sure, they could get rid of some plastic, but at what cost? Almost every car they put out right now matches or undercuts their competetors while looking better. The EV9 doesn't just look good, it's freaking sexy imo

I have a KIA carnival 2022 with 70k miles on it already and let me tell you how much of an awesome car it has been. zero engine problems, everything works still and smoothly, all the electronics work never had to change anything on it from the dealer or bring it to fix something specific. ZERO PROBLEMS. KIA most definitely deserves this praise because it has truly reinvented itself.

I have been a BMW owner for almost 30 years. I wanted a fast electric car so I ordered an i4 M50. After nearly a year I got tired of waiting. I went into a Kia dealership a year ago and saw an EV6 GT on the floor. Got in it, got a great feeling from it, took it for a test drive and bought it. I decided to forget about the label and try something different - I’m so glad I did. The car has been great…well built, practical, all the bells and whistles, better range than advertised and neck-snapping acceleration. I’m a Kia fanboy now.

    I think I’m past the “… but it’s a Kia” hang-up. Mad respect.

Been driving my EV9 GT for almost 2 months now, over 1100 miles. I cannot say enough with how happy my family is. It really feels luxury, it is almost stupid how fast it is, and it does feel like they thought of everything. With the heavy doors (vs minivan sliding doors), my 5 year old took a couple trips to get used to using them, but now she does it on her own. My biggest 2 annoyances so far are that the rear windshield wiper doesn't do the whole rear window well and the massage seat is only for the driver (my kids love the heated captains chairs though). And if your biggest problem is a lack of massage seats for the passengers, that tells you how amazing the car is.

We've driven most of the available EV models as rentals (Polestar/Volvo/Tesla/Ford/Chevy/Hyundai). We own a Model 3, and have had 3 generations of Nissan Leafs as well as a hybrid Ford Maverick. We bought an EV9 yesterday and are absolutely blown away. SO quiet compared to the M3! Kids say "I feel like I'm in a plane!" I think when word of mouth spreads, especially among families, and especially when they are made in the US or have other incentives applied, this car will pop off in demand like the Telluride. Well done engineers of Kia and especially love the hard work that went into the recent OTA updates that fixed the battery issue.

This is honestly my dream car as a family man. Loads of tech and looks cool, but also relentlessly practical.
  • Ok seriously Thank You! I have a slight obsession with this car and have watched probably 37 of these reveal videos since they began. You are the first person who has ever mentioned, talked about and especially demonstrated the “dog walk” feature in and out of a parking space with the key fob. You find some of the most unique things to pinpoint about a car which is something I really love about your videos. So just wanted to say thanks for doing what you do!

I work in quality at the West Point, GA plant that builds the EV9. We haven't started building it in full production yet. Just running trials now. It is a good looking vehicle.

Finally somebody talks about the 12fps media centers almost every car comes with 😩 Also, shout-out to the goose. Let him do his thing.

Got my EV6 few months ago and im really impressed. My family owned KIA cars since 2002 and with every generation this car maker makes leaps forward in quality of their products and their new EVs are a testament to that.
  • @Markone99
Kia is one of the best companies I've seen these past years. They completely changed their reputation, and their vehicles are genuinely amazing now! We got a Sportage and that car is just... Amazing! The dashboard, the huge 12.5in screen is so responsive which you don't see in many high end cars like the mercedes gla which is like 20% more expensive. They're so comfy, so spacious, so good when you drive them in any mode! Genuinely love this car and this brand now
  • @BecauseTesla
I went for a test ride at the Chicago Auto Show, and was really impressed. Kia has been killing it lately with their EVs. Now let’s go for the knock out punch and release a Stinger EV!

20 years ago I would have never believed I would own 3 Hyundai / Kai vehicles then we have two more Hyundais in our immediately family and all of them have been fantastic. Great review!
