Material found in Parque Ecológico Municipal (La Plata, Buenos Aires). I've been reviewing the first twenty minutes of the footage almost frame by frame these last few months to avoid the risk of uploading something potentially illegal (I've seen things appear and disappear in various parts of the video and had to review the entire thing to make sure). As far as I know, everything is relatively normal, but I have to clarify:

/// This video is NOT for suitable for children ///

Despite seeming so, because apparently it's a game for kids, (In fact, I thought it was the first time I saw it) but there are things that don't add up.

I will upload the rest once I properly review it. If, by any chance, you have some information about this game (Or the tape itself) please, write it down in the comments.

I dunno why but the part where the character recieved 100 coins then got into MASSIVE DEBT 10 seconds after without dialogue is so hilarious to me
  • No matter how many people talk about it, the herculean effort it took for those opening animations can NEVER be praised enough.

I absolutely love how this ACTUALLY looks like a PS1 game. Straight from the animated intro and dialog boxes to the gameplay. Now THIS is an game-based arg that has done it's homework.
  • The scene with the player character being hit with the angel’s sword and screaming is legitimately one of the most unnerving things I’ve seen in an online horror video. Adding the interesting story and how quickly we get into it, I really think this is going to be something worth sticking around for.

The Different rooms at the beginning of the game are based on the seven sins. In order of appearance: -Gluttony: Food everywhere. -Envy: Eyes staring at you, wanting you. -Greed: Gold and money everywhere, with a stone statue being thrown in the dumpster. -Lust: Abortion symbolism. -Sloth: The TV's and music slowing you down as you attempt to walk. -Wrath: A large black figure terrifying a smaller one with the interview of a nuclear bomb creator. -Pride: Statues of people looking in mirrors

Aww, little bit sad this ain't a hidden gem that never got released situation because I'm digging the Porco Rosso meets Animal Crossing with MegaMan Legends graphics this got going for it. But otherwise this is really impressive and you had me fooled for way longer than you would think, amazing job dude.
  • 16:22 has genuinely gotta be one of my favorite horror moments ever. I love the idea of being faced by a monster or threat you can’t properly process or identify. Even knowing the moment’s about to happen it makes my stomach drop every time. Brilliant.

I love the inclusion of the golden calf as the fox after the 7 deadly sins areas and the church, really hammering in that the purple fox is one of evil. And how the fox could be a false idol.

Not a religious person myself, but I don't understand why more lost media doesn't delve into the topic more. Very promising, and idk if Jesus was supposed to scare me, but he scared the hell out of me
  • That is deadass one of the sickest angel designs I've ever seen. This is what I love about these old games, the constraints of the graphics breeds creativity in the designs.

A game in one language, translated to one language, subtitled into another language, honestly quite incredible!
  • 0:19 Just in case people were curious, the Japanese text after "subject" says "Green Valley" in English (the pronunciation is literally "gureen bareh") Also on the Onixware screen, the text reads "Your heart is in our hands"
  • 17:29 is excellent. The way he falls and writhes in agony happens to always give me goosebumps.
  • Its so interesting how Kazuya's house has shoes in front of it, especially since abandoned pairs of shoes in Japanese media often symbolize suicides/is a common trope for people to take their shoes often before ending their own lives. Actually, my first encounter with this trope was Aika Village from Animal Crossing, where its theorized the mother committed suicide by drowning with the red shoes found by the ocean, which is a coincidence since the aesthetic of the game is very much familiar with that of the Animal Crossing franchise. Plus if this game is trapping people in it, which it seems with Matias, than death could be seen as the only escape hence why the person committed suicide.

Here's a couple things I've noticed / I'd like to point out while I skimmed through this video from back to back: - [15:32] The words that show up around the "portal" read "Liberté, égalité, fraternité", which is the national motto of France - [16:26] The display message is shown to be written on 5 different languages: English, Italian, German, Spanish, and a fifth one [which I honestly don't know the name of ^_^; if it exists, that is]. We know from 0:36 that the game is only available on the first four languages, so it is unknown why the message is displayed on a fifth language. - [17:04] The name of this unseen character is "The Accuser". I read another comment on this comment section saying that this scene in particular is a reference to the sin of man and the Forbidden Fruit. Sometimes Lucifer is known as the "accuser angel". - [18:58] The song that plays in the background is called "Doblando el codo", a song by Angel Vargas / Orquesta Armando Lacava. No idea why the song is sometimes credited to one or both artists, but I am certainly sure its an Argentinian song. - [19:12] The sketchbook shows drawings made by Benjamín Solari Parravicini, an argentinian artist who was known for his prophetic drawings and his supposed psychic abilities to see future events. - [14:47] The "Statue of Liberty" that is briefly shown here is actually a 3D rendition of one of Parravicini's prophetic drawings from 1939, in which he predicted the fall of the World Trade Center that occured on September 11, 2001. I'll edit this comment documenting my findings [If I find any more ^_^]
  • I like this angle, a lot. It feels like an actual tribute to Catholic/ Christian belief as it goes over things most people don't even think of. Sure we think of Seven Deadly Sins, but lust is taken to an angle that actually makes sense from a religious perspective other than just "sexy time", that being the consequences and abuse of said activity. Just, it speaks to me and feels like it's been researched for the topic at hand. Realistic (as far as we know) angel depictions, the fall of man, and how the Devil takes on many forms and names as well as occupations. And even if this is just for the scary side of Christianity/ Catholicism, there's plenty for that too! I mean, TONS of scary stuff happens in the Bible, I'm surprised people haven't used it more for that whether they believe or not. And making a religious-focused project like this in this day and age is gutsy and brave since religion is often shunned, and ironically demonized. Great work here, man!

If you want to help spread the word, I would recommend sharing the video with people interested in lost media, although there's not much information on the web that I could find, but we might as well try.

OMG DUDE THE INCLUSION OF THE “MONEY” INTRO IS GENIUS
  • I'm still wrapping my head around the story and symbolism, but can we talk about how well designed this fictional game is?? The sound design and the ui and the art style and everything make the parts of the video that aren't scary feel really believable, like this is a real game I could have picked up back in the day. It makes the scarier parts hit harder to me, I think this is the first PS1 horror type piece that I could associate with something nostalgic from my own childhood!
