sad to see that the U.S. Space Force band wasn't given the honor

All the music teachers be like “see kids???? This is why we learn recorder!”
  • @burhack007
It's so clear, I can hear every instruments clearly. The force is strong in this one.😮

I mainly came here like “oh ha ha the US Military is making a starwars/Disney song how silly” but like… genuinely the longer you listen the more appreciation you have to have, this is actually really beautiful and must have taken a lot of work, it’s wonderfully done.

I can't imagine what the people playing wind instruments must think wearing a mask with a hole cut in it.

Can you imagine being on a battlefield and the next thing you hear is this

Out of all the composers putting out music for Star Wars productions, this sounds the closest in spirit and musicality to what John Williams did in his tenure as a Star Wars composer.
  • those holes in their masks to blow the flutes cracks me up 😂
  • @timothymbess
"Wear this mask." "Now cut a hole in it and blow your spit through a musical instrument."

Something people maybe don't know is the US military bands are very, very serious musical organizations. A guy in knew from college finished his conducting PhD and then conducted for the Air Force band. These are all top musicians.

This just randomly popped up in my feed. Gives me chills both because it’s a musical masterpiece on the eve of Season three of the Mandalorian, as well as a reminder of the dark times we faced back when this video must have been shot. Well done!

British: “Weapons are so uncivilized.” Americans: “Weapons are part of our Religion.”

This is the first time I've actually seen a recorder in a formal performance since recorder class in elementary school

Masks with holes in it. You basically breath as hard as you can through them. In the end: a mind blowing concept.

the part with the accustic guitar the first time is just so fire
  • This is by far my favourite song the United States Army Band has played. I have spoken.

I know a music instructor, whose son joined the US Airforce Band and one of its youngest members at the time. They are definitely highly skilled and top musicians; you can't just be anyone that knows music or plays casually and join. This was a great cover of the Mandalorian theme.
  • playing wind and brass through a mask slit has got to be one of the most army things I have seen... drill holes for a lid, bolt in the nuts to screw it down, to weld it shut, so you can cut a hole through the entire circle
