Battle by the Bay was the unofficial west coast Street Fighter Alpha 2 arcade grand championship tournament held on 20/7/1996 at Sunnyvale Golfland in the San Jose/San Francisco Bay Area, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Alex valle was a beast ! heard stories from people at syracuse mall, they used to hold tourneys in 97,98,99 I was coming down from canada to play some of the best on the east coast .People would say you dont understand" this valle guy"" he is unbeatable ! 'the best in north america ! imo Alex valle is the best player ever to touch Alpha 2
