Albert Cummings And Swamp Yankee, Album: The Long Way albertcummings.com/
Woman i want to ask you
Why you do that anyway
I thought things were fine
just yesterday

Woman you've got to tell me
what's going through your head
You know I can't spend one more night
sleeping in this lonely bed

Now I lay here thinking
about what you did
I know it was wrong baby
but I'm ready to forget

Baby you got to tell me
what's going through your head

You know i can't spend one more night
sleeping in this lonely bed

Tell me baby
What it's gonna be
You gonna come back home
Lord, and stay with me

Or I've got to..
Get myself another woman instead

You know i can't spend one more night
sleeping in this lonely bed

  • Im a man with simple tastes In the morning i listen to the news At night I listen to the blues.
  • @Moise-83
When i'm listening to the blues , i'm happy to be sad... sadness give us more sensitivity and creativity, letting emotions simply exist
  • A wise man once said The blues ain't nothin' but a good man feelin' bad, thinkin' 'bout the woman he once was with...

You can definitely hear the SRV influence here. Some of those riffs are straight from texas flood. This is incredible.

Lying in my bed but no longer alone. This kind of blues soothes the tortured soul of the night in a smokin' & vapin' city.

The moonlight pushes a pale glow over the cold ground as I make the trek home. Faint notes of music, distant voices - grow quieter as I leave the lights of the city in the background. Frosty landscape, accented with patches of sleek snow, stretch out on either side of me, a few tire tracks visible through the white from recent travelers. A piercing wind crashes into my cheek, a harsh contrast to the warmth of the bar I just left. The whiskey is fading now, my hand steadying - my steps only weave slightly as I crunch icy turf underfoot. I can hear the rush of the river nearing - a cheerful pour through the trees pointing me home. She’ll have beaten me there, probably - a fire crackling already, an easy smile from her spot on the porch. My foot slips violently on the ice, nearly go down - I manage to right myself somehow without tumbling into the river beside me. Did I wander off the path? How long have I been walking on the waters edge? I glimpse back towards the tiny lights of the city, barely visible now - only the sound of the river and trees noticeable from here. I inhale the winter air into my tired lungs, and crouch by the rushing water, silently observing the hurried patterns. I’ll have to use the night sky to get home, probably - I glance up, grateful it’s a clear night, the frozen stars easily visible. I blink at the nights beauty, and step towards home. Cheers, Don.
