What if I had a microwave gun? Oh, wait! I do.
Yes, I build this out of two microwaves from a local thrift store. Now you can too. I've included schematics, a design, and some measurements.
For more information, check the various links in the description.

ATTENTION - This is dangerous. High voltage can be fatal. Handle with extreme care.

If you are looking to build your own microwave gun:
Have some experience with high voltage and some understanding of RF.
Working microwaves can be purchased for between $10-20 at a thrift store; check there first.
The horn requires at least a 3' square foot thin steel plate.
The handles I used were actually two mailbox mounting posts.
Batteries not included!

Hugely underrated channel sir! You have great content and the best part for someone looking to actually learn is that you do a great job of explaining the theory behind the stuff and have great links for further reading. Thank you so much for the great work you are doing
  • People don't realize how intelligent this gent is. SUBSCRIBED - hope to see this channel grow!!!

This channel deserves far more subs. 😀

why don't you make an octagonal mirror, it seems to me that it will be even stronger
  • @phonotical
I wonder what would happen with two magnetrons opposing one another

2:16 "Every..(cant hear) I apply power to the magnetron it wont turn on." Wont turn on? I can clearly see that it will?
  • @Tavigno83
so, that beast that you built, how far a drone must be in order for the jammer to affect the signal?

Wood is conductive at high voltages. (due to moisture) Trust me, I had built a jacobs ladder and the wires were nailed into a piece of wood. When I turned it on, it arced into the concrete into ground.

You're a pretty smart guy. As you probably already know, if you shaped your reflector in the form of a parabola your output would be more coherent.
  • It would be great if you can focus the beam.
  • I’m gonna bring you a do not try at home do it yourself video lol
  • I have a phobia of microwaves. I know how they work and I have a basic understanding of radio but something about them and CRTs just freaks me out. No way would I be in the same room as that thing. It also looks like you have the power of it turned down somehow? I would think that 1000 watts of RF would be enough to destroy most electronics like that little radio.

can you heat some food with it too or is too low energy?
