#1's the first trick I've ever seen by David. From that day on I've been straight-up confused and fascinated and slightly disturbed by his work. I don't particularly want to know how he does these things; it would ruin my enjoyment of him. Besides, when it comes to stage and street magicians, the real magic is in making your audience see something bizarre or mind-blowing and leaving them to wonder how you did it.

the ice pick trick is just mind over matter. it is simply amazing what you can train your body to do and not do. Aghori tribesmen and Asian monks can do the exact same stuff after years of meditation and practice, that "stuff" being piercing yourself with sharp rods without pain bleeding or injury afterward. Hell even David Blaine doesn't have shit on Mirin Dajo who could pierce his torso with swords without injury, they even took Xrays in the 1940s of Mirin Dajo with swords in his body
