⚠ Don't miss out! Save money on your gaming laptop with our daily deals: gaminglaptop.deals/ 3:31 Meant to say the 4080 is more power efficient. It uses more power, but the FPS improvement is higher. The graph is correct, what I said is wrong.
  • @antalpoti
Jarrod and everyone else: "just buy a 4080 instead of a 4070". Me: "sure blud, lemme pull another 1500€ out of my arsehole"
  • @DarkPanda1
Me who was thinking to buy 4050 Him: 4060 Is worth spending extra Me: okay then let's go for 4060 Him: 4070 is more superior Me: okay we have come to far let's get 4070 Him: 4080 is much better Me: 😢 Him: I think you should go for 4090 for extra fps Me: bruh ☠️
  • @xalex7923
The difference in Spain is 4070 for 1500€ and 4080 for 2100€. I think ill stay with the 4070 laptop
  • @pedro4205
At this moment, in BestBuy, the cheapest 4080 is costs 800US$ more than the cheapest 4070.
  • @ZeroEight
I absolutely love the Power Scaling graph you did, I wish all the reviewers provided this information. I would love to see this graph for the Asus G14 - 4070, 4080 and 4090 variants
  • @B-max.
this conclusion of "just buy the more expensive model bro" is exactly why 'Ngreedia' created such a difference in performance between these cards. As consumers, you are being played.
  • @Jonathan-bi8hr
The voltage limit is an incredibly disingenuous move on nVidia’s part. If they advertised these cards as up to 100w, that would be fine as a marketing tool for efficiency. Instead, they get to advertise more power, more better, without actually delivering on performance
  • @rkiwtir1146
Sure the performance difference is large but the price is also large (Atleast in regions where i can buy it from) Usually it is around 400-600$ difference and then again you're not just looking at the GPU on paper when buying it. The TGP varies by models , plus the screen, cooling, battery life, upgradability all matter of the laptop all matter.
  • @Cowboy.J
In Canada, the Legion 7i with a 4080 is going to be about $1,300 more than a Legion 5i with a 4070. Insane price difference, no reason to go for the 4080.
  • Your analysis and comparisons as always so thorough and accurate; so helpful to get the full picture. Thank you.
  • @sierra5065
When pointing out how bad of a value the 4070m is you should also include the 4060m. Its ~10% slower but more than 10% cheaper and has the same 8gb vram.
  • I do agree with that statement, but I also think the 4070 has its place in thin and lights. The efficiency of this card is amazing laptops like the x13 and z13 are great examples of that
  • @exserentia
Great review. Would add a caveat -- I think the mfgs realize they aren't selling so managed to get a 4070 legion that I paid 4060 prices for (~1350$ w. 7745hx). 4080 capable laptops seem to be outside my price range and would set me back quite a bit more.
  • @user-tr1sz3qw5n
As always it just depends on price. If the price difference between a 4070 and 4080 is like 300 even 400 hundred dollars than by all means get a 4080. But right now you can get deals on 4070 laptops that make the price difference more like &700-$900. A Legion with 4070 can be had for like 1600-1700 right now, a 4080 version comes in 2500+. That's a gap in price that is actually bigger than the gap in relative GPU performance, as long as you are fine gaming at 1440p/1600p which these GPU's seem perfectly capable of handling.
  • @ElBandito_Gaming
Hi Jarrod, from that video where you showed that above 100 W all 4060-70 perform the same (capped fps above 100w), I am looking ONLY at 4080 laptops. There is no point getting somethinng above 100W 4060. Thanks again!
  • @Pividol
You've played right into their hands. The entire purpose of the lower skus is to upsale for the 4080 and 4090
  • @victorxdavid
In my country it was a 40 dollar increase in price switching from 4060 to 4070 in the configuration so i think it depends on the deal aswell. But the jump to a 4080 would be a few hundred dollars
  • @shinobishaw7542
Unfortunately the "just spend more for 4080" didnt reach the box retailers ears. I'm seeing on average a $500-$700 price difference from 4070 to 4080. Also the laptops that come with 4k screens pushes the price to the $3200-$3500 range. You can get a 4070 i9 (H) for under $2400 from most places. Also for me I prefer thin and light laptops.
  • I'm glad you mentioned the lower wattage of the 4080 on the Asus M16, makes me reconsider my options 🤔
