So, I was looking through the global Achievement stats for Terraria on steam since I bought it on there a few weeks ago. While almost everything has an explanation, some of the stats are really funny or weird. Let's take a look at some.

This was really, really not fun to edit.

Dreadnautilus Cheese:

Several of the achievements listed were introduced in 1.4.1, which makes sense why they are disproportionately lower. I'm actually one of the people who did 200 fishing quests, but "never" fished in lava, just because I did most of my play before 1.4.1

I’ve heard that crimson is actually a 55% chance instead of a 50/50 when you generate a random world. That was done to make old players to try the new evil when it came out and was never switched back.

i used to have a screenshot right when terraria 1.4 first came out showing the achievement of making a workbench with like "1.3% of people have this achievement"
  • Golem fight is just so easy to curbstomp that it is easier to defeat Golem than to enter his house.

Hi! before 1.4 the Reaver Shark Pickaxe had 100% mining power, and u can get that pickaxe very early game by fishing in the sea biome, so most of the people go for that and ignore the molten pickaxe (sorry for my english, not my lenguage) :D

Regarding the Timber and surviving your first night achievement, this is also something you see with MMO games where people get bored or lose interest very fast. I think it's more to do with the fact that maybe someone buys the game (or gets it as a gift) and either doesn't play it or they bought it when it was on sale on steam "Just in case"

Or they had a pirated copy and wanted to buy it to support the devs, and then just never played the legit copy.

I like how for a lot of games, the most common achievement roughly tells you how many people who got the game played it.

the Funkytown achievement is bugged, so if you are in any mushroom biome and teleport to spawn (which is most likely on the surface) it still registers that you are in a mushroom biome, but thinks it's at the spawn location, and grants you the "Funkytown" achievement.
  • More people have the Zenith achievement than the "Beating the Moon Lord" achievement. You can tell people really played the game.
  • About the Jungle Temple, you can literally just place platforms adjacent to the door, turn them into stairs, and then walk through the door by holding down while walking.

NOTE- I've had tons of comments talking about Hardmode Fishing crates and Hoiking into the Temple. I am aware of both, while I forgot to mention them in the video I am still very aware of both. Not every single comment has to be about that.
Neither one of them would really change the stats too much, meanwhile. Hardmode Crates n particular is something I admittedly did forget and that part of the video is nullified due to it. My apologies.

Also, tons of people are bringing up the Reaver Shark to me. I mentioned that in the video.

I also may have made a mistake of saying more people have Mecha Mayhem then the trap chest achievement. I have no idea how that happened- my guess is due to how similar the percentages are the achievements swapped places between recording and editing. Or maybe it was just my mistake. Whoops.

Before 1.4, Reaver Shark is very powerful! As well as fishing crates, then opening them in Harmode. That's why pretty much skips Molten Pickaxe before. Also, I think you can still skip Molten Pickaxe now by fishing crates in Hardmode.

Man you underestimated how the majority of people don't like fishing for the angler terraria. Also about fishing in lava, It's introduced in 1.14 which made me just never think about it. I do fish in most playthrough but doing it in lava is just not a thought that came in mind despite me knowing it since i kept in touch with terraria updates around the journeys end update

Here is another point with the lava fishing: Terraspark Boots. Specifically the lava charm.

Sureeee, you can search your lava layer for one. Of course, you will come up empty handed because its so goddamn rare. And so lava fishing is the easier and more consistent way of getting this rare item.

So you would expect the terraspark boots adchivement to be on par or slightly more common than the lava fishing adchivement. NO, the terraspark boots are like triple the fishing in being common.
  • @nass4179
for the golem achievement that because there is a glitch to enter the temple without a key wich will block you from getting the achievement later

about the fairy achievement: It took me several playthroughs to find a single one, so I guess some people got unlucky and only did one or two playthroughs.
About the fishing in lava: for most people, fishing is probably a bit of a boring task, and the items required to fish in lava probably make it undesirable and it's not entirely necessary for most playthroughs. most of the other odd achievement statistics are due to people cheating, multiplayer, or potentially glitches.
And about the lack of angler quest completion, I don't really fish much. I only have the achievement for completing 200 angler quests just to have it. I figure most people see fishing as boring and probably don't want to put in the effort to complete a few quests. finding proper fishing areas can be difficult and building one can be annoying. people probably see it as useless. also, you mention people can get the Cellphone by fishing, despite it being a good item, if 13% of people can't complete 10 angler quests I doubt they'll attempt to get the Cellphone. Although the angler gives somewhat useful items, I think they're just not always worth the effort to most people.

You can craft a Celestial Sigil, which summons Moonlord without killing the 4th pillar, since you can turn lunar fragments(solar, nebula, stardust, vortex) into their other counterparts, since the Sigil requires all 4 fragment types.
  • I’m pretty sure the reason for the finding of a truffle biome and building a house for the truffle NPC having such a big gap is because new players or players who got bored quickly probably found the mushroom biome from early game mining but didn’t progress far enough to need/want the truffle NPC 🤷‍♂️
  • An in game day is 24 minutes, to finish 200 quest you need 200 days which is 4800 minutes, which is..., 80 hours. Sleep in a bed allow you to make times go 5 times faster, so atleast 16 hours required. Atleast 16 hours, since you also need to find the biome, fish, bring the fish to the Angler, and farm for baits. So to complete supreme minion helper will take you about a real life day.
Just don't forget to touch grass.
  • @derpu
At 12:50, you don't NEED a molten pickaxe since you don't NEED hardmode ore to beat the game. it is just very handy to obtain and make hardmode ore tools and armour.
