This DIY workbench/outfeed table/assembly table build is thanks to Bespoke Post for sponsoring this video! Head to bspk.me/blacktail and use code BLACKTAIL to learn more and get 20% off your first box.

In this video, I show how I built my giant outfeed table for my table saw. This outfeed table is constructed from a heavy-duty aluminum extrusion kit provided by Framing Tech. The top is a commercial-grade satin black laminate, and I also inlaid my cast iron router table to save space, then added some cool custom vertical mounts for my Festool vacuum clamps.

Another bonus, it would cost you the same to build it out of wood here in 2021
  • I work for Ford Motor Co. We have stations on our transmission assembly line that are nearly 75% extruded aluminum construction. Triangulation is key, plus the actual shape of the aluminum adds strength. Great video. 👍

We use a lot of that 80/20 here at my company and I absolutely love it. I had never thought to use it for a workbench or work table build. What comes to mind is if you get a new miter saw thats a different height you don't have to rebuild the shelf for it, just loosen the fasteners and adjust as needed. Great Idea!

Men at Work. Your tips and product suggestions are very helpful. I would say with your line of videos they make for a complete discussion and presentation of a real working wood shop. I value this approach as should most who do any woodworking as it helps with what I mentioned, suggestions. You also have a huge advantage with space and tools which we know can be a huge part of the battle of producing quality product. I work in my garage with what many could call a mini shop and of course limited tools that come with that but I feel I put out some pretty good stuff considering my limitations.
  • Hey Cam! Just wanted to thank you for all your videos. I've learned so much and actually built my own epoxy table because of your videos. My girlfriend and I successfully built a 4' x 8' river table on our first try. Largely in part because of your videos. I've never commented so thank you! We appreciate your insight over the years.

Love the shop build videos. Don’t hesitate to keep them coming! They’re very helpful

Oh man, I love that stuff! I use it all the time at work for brackets, stands, fixtures and stuff. Also used it to make a really nice router sled system for flattening slabs of wood.

To be perfectly honest with you, the reason I keep coming back to your channel is the honesty. That’s not to say other channels aren’t honest, I just like “warts and all” honesty.

Tragically Hip: What an awesome project.
  • Garth Brooks, love the shop builds and the project builds, I get tips from both, I think we aspire to have a larger shop, or new tools, and it is great to see what others are using and why. Keep them coming! And thank you for the work that you put in making them! Stay safe.

CCR, I totally like the fact that you include some of your shop upgrades in between your projects. Keep up the good work👍

Really Enjoy all of your video's so far. I have watched about 20 so far , 2 or 3 of which with my father who is 80yrs old and had a stroke a few months back. First bit of bonding we have done in 20yrs or more. Your very talented and I'm glad you were here for my circumstances :) A very warm thank you and love from Scotland.

The aluminium extrusion looks like it would be perfect for building a router table or router slab flattening jig, versatile stuff! Great build with lots of useful little tips and techniques.

RUSH those extrusions to me! I love the workbench and this outfeed table! I also appreciate the way you’re thinking outside the box and making your shop efficient, practical, and sexy (if that’s possible). Keep it comin’!!
  • I personally got to design this structural framing and it’s so nice to see people still using it. Structural aluminum framing will take thousands of pounds of force it never rusts you can always drill it and it’s incredibly versatile.
  • @mikemalter
I love both the shop and regular projects. Infrastructure is a cornerstone.

I've watched a couple of your videos where you struggle with flipping a large tabletop over. Have you considered some sort of simple block and tackle system secured to the ceiling? If rigged properly, you could use it to gently and safely raise the slab to verticle, then lower it onto the other side. You might also need some sort of stops to keep the slab from sliding while being raised or lowered.

Alice In Chains, getting ready to start on my out feed table/work bench. It’s been great to see different ideas from people as I build my shop also. Thanks for the shop videos!

Keep up the good work and good luck. I have give you plenty of likes and I am a subscriber.
