  • Trivia: For some unfathomable reason there are six fingers in that image of a hand in VR's restaurant carts' door handles.

The phone booth in the train is needed mainly because the connection is usually very bad when the train is moving! Inside that small room your connection is much better. And yes ofcourse it's also about privacy.
  • If you were to have told me that you were traveling through my little corner of northern Canada, I would have believed you without hesitation.

One of the nicer train cabins and overnight trains I've seen. I'm not at all claustrophobic so its relatively small size seemed perfectly fine to me, along with the really cute and efficient bathroom with shower (actually gives me some ideas for a camper van I've been building in my imagination). Plus something about train travel in winter with snow all around and everything lifeless and frozen just seems right. In summer there's this urge to stop the train and get out at every turn, especially on more scenic routes. But in winter it's so cold and desolate that you feel lucky to be inside all snug and warm. I've traveled by train in both seasons and think I prefer winter. Of course it was in the Rockies and Cascades, which helps.

Love the bear, bare, beer joke :-) I really want to do this one day. I've been to Helsinki and loved it, but need to see more of Scandinavia.

Dude that price for the cabin and breakfast is amazing. Way better than Amtrak cabin prices. I’m thinking of doing a 65 hour Chicago to LA Amtrak in coach 😂😂😂 cuz of the room prices

Yep, according to the Constitution of Finland, Swedish is Finland's second official language. So studying Swedish is compulsory for all Finns whose native language is Finnish. They must study Swedish in primary schools, upper secondary schools, vocational schools and universities. Finland's government officials are required to speak Swedish. All official papers, etc. are in Finnish and in Swedish. The street names, place names and signs in many cities are both in Finnish and in Swedish. Almost half of Finland's municipalities and towns have both Finnish and Swedish names, or only Swedish names, etc. Swedish can be seen everywhere.
  • Wow! That looks awesome! I haven’t been on a sleeper train yet.
  • Hey guys! Ludwig's bunk gymnastics are hilarious, but at least the shower has more headroom than the bunk!😂 I love train vlogs and it was while searching for them that your channel popped up in my feed. I am sooo glad that it did; you guys are great! May your many travels be accompanied by much wedded bliss!❤💕 (And enough room for Frost-Giant Ludwig.)

From one railfan to another, i totally understand your excitement ♡ that was a lovely journey and a beautiful train. Thank yoh for taking us with you!
  • @SK-nw4ig
Swedish is mandatory in all levels of Finnish education - however only few people really speaks Swedish, since outside of coastal areas we dont need it and rarely hear it :) So we just forget. And most Finns are not really that motivated to learn it because of that.
