The 10 Most Dangerous Cities In America (2021):

We visit Shreveport, Louisiana, which along with it's sister city Bossier are home to a thriving, upscale casino business. There's also a lot of financial distress in the surrounding neighborhoods.

We stayed at the Sleep Inn Shreveport.

My take on this video is, that the filmer needs to interview residents of the area in which they are interviewing, and not just video and give his view points... videos like this only gives a much negative take on the city and the people of it... Allendale is not a dangerous neighborhood, and it's population has decreased due to political mandates, which has caused residents to move to other ares... Allendale and the bottoms are old historical areas, which the government has torned down, for their own financial gain... You need to dorsal see Shreveport and actually interact, to really know about this City...

I’m a resident and was born and raised here and I remember when I was a kid and this city looked nothing like this. Our economy was booming and everyone was making money. We had General Motors, General Electric, liberty glass, shell plants, and a host of other high paying jobs including the casino’s and now our economy is pretty much non existent. I’ve watched this happen and no one is doing anything about it and it hurts to see your city just crumble under bad leadership
  • You'd be surprised by the amount of houses that are uninhabitable but still have people living in them it's crazy

As a person whose sister was murdered in Shreveport, I have to say I dont enjoy the city. I think locals will almost always see the good in their home cities, but issues in Shreveport can't be underestimated.
  • As a resident of the city, it is interesting to see it from an "outsider's" point of view. The development here has taken place away from downtown. I am in southeast Shreveport and it looks nothing like where you were driving. However, some of my family lives a few blocks away from where you were in Allendale. We are getting an Amazon that is built and soon to be up and running. Prayerfully, it will bring more resources to the city. Thanks for providing your point of view. Maybe some of our city leaders can view this and it will motivate them to continue to make changes to the downtown area.
  • I lost my house after 20 years last year. We live in a tiny rv with our kids and 3 dogs in my friends yard. I have to say that I look longingly at the abandoned houses around me and wish I could just go move into one. These people are glad to have what they do.

I actually can explain the giant dog statue at 10:39 (Shreveport resident here). So that building is an old fire station (hence the dog being a Dalmatian) that was converted into an arts building by two local animators. It's also used to show short films for a film festival we have every October.

After living in shreveport this is how it works People from shreveport complain to other people from shreveport about shreveport. People from shreveport complain to other people from shreveport about people who aren't from shreveport complaining about shreveport. Basically, we can talk bad about ourselves but the moment someone else does....oooo look out haha :P
  • You should have gone down Fairfield Avenue and seen the stately historic homes in that area. You were so close to the first Shriner's Hospital for Children in the US, established 1922. Instead you showed us Louisiana Boardwalk and Horseshoe Casino. You ate at Beaujacks when you could have eaten at Herby K's or Fertitta's...both historic and "in the shadow of downtown". You could have mentioned that many people think Municipal Auditorium is haunted. You could have shown the historic cemetery across the street from Municipal Auditorium. Instead you showed us the few houses still in the Bottoms. You got nowhere near the crime centers of town. I give your video a .2 out of 10.

At one time, probably a few decades ago, Shreveport was a busy city, but like every other urban area in America, the lifeblood of industry got offshored to places like China, India, and Mexico, where the labor is super cheap, and corporate honches are able put more profit into their OWN pockets as a result!
  • This makes me just cry,What is clear to me is that Politicians have been corrupt for so long,And people have given up,Father God Bring Prosperity to this Nation,Bless these People
  • I passed by Shreveport the other day and I was shocked by how miserable it felt. My first impression was that I were in a zombie land not an actual functioning city

Born and raised in Shreveport moved to Houston about 6 years ago best decision I've ever made.

Unfortunately, this is not a good representation of Shreveport at all.

This video was shot in only old run down areas of town. Not everywhere here is like this

I worked in Shreveport for a few weeks this past March as a security installer for an Armored car company. This once bustling rail hub is nothing but a sh*thole these days. Prostitutes & drug dealers roamed the hotels I stayed in. There was the constant sound of police sirens & I felt like I was back in the war zones of my youth. Stay away, it’s a dark & depressing place.
  • That mural is definitely beautiful. Some years back they did start adding art to the downtown area
  • My nephew was murdered in Shreveport Louisiana. A place I'd not care to live in.
  • I just moved back home from Shreveport. I was there a year and couldn't take it anymore. There aren't people walking around because of all the crime. I lived in North Highland and there was a least one shooting every night. It wasn't safe. Don't get me started on the damage to my car from the horrible roads.
