I find it interesting that in contrast to everything being so joyful, the only thing my musician ear is noticing, is that right as the courtain falls, the Music ends in a brief melancholic minor key at 11:04 The short emptiness where the sound is fading out feels like there is no one to applaud her
  • @Psycorde
I really didn't expect French singing, that was a nice surprise
  • @BeatrizViana13
I had no idea about the title being a Shakespear quote!! This is, among others, one of the reasons I love watching your reactions! They’re so insightful!

If you notice as well, during the part where she sings and swings, She is imitating the Other Archons. The first swing, she is sitting as Nahida, The second swing, shes holding a Lyre as Venti, The third swing shes sitting like Raiden, Then the last swing she throws Mora connecting to Dongli.

Fotnaine's acclaimed orchestra director Dvorak praising his archon's music sounds so in character

6:44 This melody (which is repeated at the end with the French lyrics) describes Furina's character so well. Like even without the lyrics, you can get an impression that Furina is feeling down but is trying her best to stay positive and enjoy life. It's such a brilliant message
  • 13:04 Btw Marco I’d recommend you look at what’s happening in the background of this scene if you want some good laughs lmao Because we have; -Tartaglia drop kicking someone. -Neuvilette fighting like an old grandpa. -Lyney and Lynette ganging up on some poor dude. -Navia and Clorinda chatting calmly until Navia slaps Clorinde out of nowhere (but this is obviously all just a play so she didn’t actually slap Clorinde) -And possibly much more that i missed.

incase you didn't notice it Marco, the lyrics of that last part in her demo are in the description: French: Le monde n'est qu'une scène. Il vaut mieux rire que pleurer, car le rire est le propre de l'homme. Riez de tout cela, ne vous inquiétez pas. Profitons d'aujourd'hui. English Translation: The world is but a stage. Why cry, when you can laugh instead? For laughter is humanity's preserve. Laugh it all off, fret not, Let's just enjoy the moment. --- very fitting and beautifully sung it made me almost tear up as my face was all smiles :)

Don't ask me why but i ended up crying for the French Vocals It was so beatiful but ended up crying
  • @clarxender
bro is not even 2 seconds into the video but already has a full analysis of only the first melody 😭 amazing
  • @poppythecat454
Yes, it is a famous Shakespeare quote. I'm so pleased that Genshin always uses all different kinds of references from all different countries. Thank you Marco!!
  • @Psycorde
12:50 "I'm really reaching here..." Meanwhile, Ashikai writing it down and planning out a 40 minute video explaining what it means
  • @rehiir
Nah but fr I watched her demo right after waking up at ~5 AM and when it got to the singing part my sleepy self thought I was still dreaming it just felt surreal for a second, absolutely beautiful
  • @metlspaz1
do not let the musical majesty distract you from the fact that Childe dropkicked a guy in the background
  • @timeflies313
This is why I wanted Marco to react to this demo. I knew they put many references that we won’t understand because we are not knowledgeable. Great reaction Marco! Cheers!
  • I don’t know anything about French Grand opera, but when you said it’s normally 5 acts, something I immediately though if is how this trailer, has 4 major segments after the show began, the silent film, the swinging, and the camera segment (both when it’s on her, and when she is using it), and finally the 4th is the right / dance scene, it’s interesting if this is intentional as if it’s saying the final act is up next.
  • Funny how you bring up the five acts within old French opera, since I'm pretty sure there's five distinct musical changes in the first video you watched, here. Additionally, I caught the reference to Singing in the Rain when I first saw the trailer on its own, but you saying it out loud brought to mind the connection it has to Furina; she's being cheerful and upbeat during what would normally be seen as a gloomy and depressing time.
  • Furina's demo...required a new, separate tier on my list called "a whole bloody cinematic production of its own". The utter theatrics? The chaotic scene (therefore rhythm+style) changes? The full-on electro swing BGM paired with surprise French vocals? Phenomenal 🥲 Also, glad I wasn't the only one who picked up on the Singin' in the Rain reference around 12:17
