Join me as we dive into the History of the Sony PlayStation. The History of the PlayStation is complex story. Thankfully works like the "Revolutionaries at Sony" paints a highly detailed perspective of the events around the consoles birth and rise to a juggernaut of the home game space.

The video references the Book Revolutionaries at Sony written by Reiji Asakura heavily. Please take some the time to check out that work.

Of course you have to start with the infamous Playstation boot intro. Awesome video, thank you!

I want to see the full history of the 32X (and its cancelled console, the "Neptune") next. These videos are amazing and interesting, to know about the creation of consoles!
  • The ps1 boot intro is more iconic than the ps2 intro. I like both consoles equally to death but man, I really like that ps1 boot intro lol. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Awesome!! I'll always remember the PS launch -- it was the day of my sister's wedding, and that didn't stop me from getting the PS on day 1.

Great work bringing this to life, Ian! You're upping your presentation game both in audio and visuals. And thanks for the shoutout. I honestly did very little on this one. 😂

A video about the "System G" DME-9000 Digital Multi Effects device would be amazing.

Woaw such a great video! I discovered it through Bob's weekly roundup (retro rgb). Good luck with the next one, can't wait to watch it.

  • @st1ka
Damn dude your visuals are excellent
  • This was so good, man. A fun story told in a really fun way. Only thing missing was an excuse to have trio Hawkins on screen for 5 minutes straight.

Great video Historic! And incredible animation ! This must have taken several CDIs worth of processing power to render !
  • @FabioGnecco
Lovely 3d animations ! Much appreciation to whoever worked on it !

Wow man, great job! When you said that you had a lot of Blender renders in this you weren't kidding! I like the little details like the phone dial tone panning channels when the camera sweeps across it, or the cigarette being put out on the Zelda toy's head lol. As well as other little Easter eggs you have hidden throughout. Gives the audience incentive to rewatch the video. Smart.

Great video, man! Very informative and well-researched. You did a good job presenting all the information. Wish you all the best on your future endeavors. P.S. Please do a video on the PS2 whenever you have the time.
  • This was awesome....would love to see more about current systems today. Awesome work !!!!
