  • I got married at 16 in 1970! Husband left 2 weeks later for Basic Training and then in December, left for Viet Nam! The music during that time takes me back! Will never forget!
  • There aren’t many upsides to being old, but having been in high school when this beautiful piece of music was released is one of them.

I truly believe there will never be another generation of music to compare with the 60/70s. Let us hope that it is being carefully preserved for those who knew and loved it

I’m 74 & feel so lucky to have lived through such amazing times, been a rocker, a mod & a hippie. We have had the most talented singers, songwriters, musicians & poets. I know so many young people who say i wish i had been around in the 60’s. Anyway my point is, that’s a timeless song & sang with such beautiful harmonies & yes still relevant today. It’s only Rock n Roll but don’t we just love it!

1972. I was 10 years old. Me and my 3 siblings sang this song at my my moms and adoptive fathers wedding. My sister played the guitar… not a dry in the place. Thank you David, may you sing & fly with the angels… say hi to my and dad ♥️

Viet Nam war was terrible in 1970. Listening to these words still in 2022, “Teach your Children!”
  • I too was blessed to have grown up in the late 60's and 70's. Blessed to have had such great artists and music. I wish people would heed this song in these current turbulent times....teach your children well, people.

  • It must be a true compliment to artists when thousands and thousands of people can sing the lyrics to your songs back at you, after years of those songs first being sung.
