This week we explain the difference between the method of construction of our new boat, Strongall, and a tradicional aluminum framed boat. We explain about the advantages of building a metal boat using this interesting method, that was the main reason why we choose to work with Meta Yachts.

If you are interested in building a Meta 43DS Odd and want to know more about it, please email [email protected]

We also show our workshop finally ready and the amount of things we were able to fit inside a tiny workshop and explain a little bit about the tools we have inside it thanks to all the partners we have for our projects:

We are Duca and Roberta, a Brazilian couple that during a sabbatical trip in 2016 decided to follow our dream. So, we created "Odd Life Crafting", a project composed of many smaller projects that we call seasons.
The first one was the creation of Odd Life Crafting. The idea was to build a metal boat to be able to travel the world taking our house with us, but we didn't have money for that. So, we started the next season: we built a tiny shipping container house with no prior experience in building to gain some skills to build a boat. When we were almost finished we found a boat 700km away from our hometown that was neglected for over 22 years and we spent 2 years refitting her (Season 3). The last season has been a dream coming true… we are exploring the Brazilian coast with OUR BOAT that we called Odd.. But wait? What happened to the house? Check out our website to know more about it www.oddlifecrafting.com/blog

We hope to inspire others to follow their dreams.

Good job Professor Duca! One proof of understanding of a subject is the ability to explain it to one's grandmother. I believe your explanation is grandmother approved.
  • @danlee2041
As a trade school instructor I'd say you are doing just fine in your explanation between the 2 types of construction. You should title this video "Hull construction 101". You are terrific at explaining your trade. Love your videos and look forward to them every week!
  • @danaskubic2145
Next week I want to see you at the launch of Yaba! You introduced us to both, Ben and MP three years ago, a very successful rebuild channel. Thank you for that and thanks for sharing your new journey.
  • @hallowther9735
Thank you Duca for elaborating on why you and Roberta chose Meta. In the explanation of methods you have not only educated your subscribers but , brought us along on the journey of your own evaluation and ultimate decision. Thanks again. All the best, Hal
  • EXCELLENT explaining the design and the why of it. While I enjoyed the sailing portion of you channel, it is the construction and engineering that I find most entertaining. Enjoy the process of building both your new home and your new family.
  • @davidnichols147
Roberta glowing with motherhood and we are so thankful! Love the workshop.
  • @JayL781
Man she's glowing it's so amazing congratulations once again just remember it takes a village to raise a child and your English is amazing I remember when I first was watching you guys you had a lot of trouble and now it's perfectly flowing❤
  • Duca, you are a lucky man. Roberta is the sweetest and cutest lady ever. To convince a woman today to live a nomadic lifestyle like this, you better hold on to her. Duca is pretty awesome fellow as well.
  • Excelente Trabalho Duca.Adorei sua oficina.Um grande beijo aos dois.Sempre sucesso⚓⛵⚓⛵💖
  • @DYoung-vt8pq
Love you guys! So excited for you to start both the van & the boat build. Be well. ❤
  • @randocool
This is very important information about how your boat is made. Now I can understand that the interior is easier to build. Thank you for your videos.👍👍
  • @ajnasreddin
I have to say your English has come a long way from your days when you started this channel.
  • @user-nx5cg6in8o
I think Duca is as excited about his workshop as he is about the boat! Not really but I can tell he’s proud of his accomplishment !
  • @steveparonns493
You are doing a great job explaining the process of the new sail boat construction, I’ve been following your journey since the shipping container home and enjoyed everything you both put your mind to. Keep the videos coming and I will certainly keep watching.
  • @CapitalVideo
Your new workshop looks as clean and functional as an operating theatre and I'm certain that you will doing a number of operations in it over the coming months and years. Well done Duca and to Roberta for her wisely reduced support.
