Someone said this song was about two people in love unwilling to compromise, o thought this at first but now after watching already a thousand times I believe she’s describing how it means to love someone and chase your dreams at the same time eventually you might have to pick, since that person is chasing their dream and sees your success and get discouraged and starts comparing timelines and journeys, this happened with her in the story and H.E.R, illustrates a girl that can either pursue her dream or be with her man, but with this man and this dream, she can’t do both.
