Came for the plant name, stayed for you showing youre not just here for the views. You're extremely helpful to a beginner like me!
  • @SmoopyGablooy
After he gave the answer for the viewers sake, I made sure to watch the whole video. Thanks a lot man!!
  • Can never understand why people want it instantly, surely that's the beauty of it watching the tank mature/grow and develop, great video btw
  • @boogrlovr
i’ve never thought about temperature affecting plant growth before! thanks for the great tips!

Well, there are also a few pieces of advice that should be said because the video author is omitting them even for Dwarf Hairgrass. It might sound obvious, but people need to remember that: - especially at the beginning, don't let into any fishes that might move the soil, no matter what soil you use. Like Plecos, Bamboo Shrimps or Corydoras. From personal experience, there is a huge chance that they will uproot any Hairgrass. Accidentally or not. - don't use strong filters which move water a lot. There are fishes that like calm water and these which prefer moving water. But Dwarf Hairgrass prefers calm water, especially with a "light" substrate. - prepare yourself for a lot of floating plants. It just will happen. - don't go too fast on trimming it. Give them a week or two to put some roots out there. Otherwise, you will most probably uproot them yourself. That's all errors I made myself.

Would love to see a sand planted tank comparison video
  • @arthurtaggart
Kudos for telling us straight up what the plant is, thanks man
  • @shesellsfish
A side by side comparison would be awesome to see. That carpet looks great. 👍💖👍
  • This is the video I needed, I've been stuck on which carpeting plant to go with I wanted to try monte carlo but after watching this I'll save the MC for another time, I was giving some free dwarf baby tears, I'm definitely not prepared for it so 🤞🏽
  • Nice job, I enjoy these videos where I always learn something. Thanks again...
  • Legit is seriously the only food I have EVER seen my 10 year old pleco actively go after right while I'm feeding (he used to sneak his meals after I walked away) and it is now the only thing my rainbows will eat (except for brine shrimp and blood worm treats). Like my rainbows literally do this excited double take thing (I imagine an exclamation point in a thought bubble above their heads while they do this, to help paint a picture) every time I sprinkle some of that sweet sweet legit community in their tank. You've really created something that aquarists respect for its quality and fish go ham for. Mad props and much love from Dallas

Its worth mentioning that other eleocharis carpets are easy and look great too. eleocharis acicularis mini is one of my favourites, but might require a bit more energy than parvula.
  • @susyclau7433
Great advice and information! Thanks for sharing
  • Interesting and some good tips. Definitely like to see the comparison when you have time.

Glad I found this vid. I'm looking into mini leaf as a carpet for my daughter's tank. I was wondering if I could keep basic gravel and put somthing like the soil you used here on top of that. Its only a 5 gallon tank so I'm not sure.
  • @LuckAqua
Carpet is always the challenging part when setting-up my tanks. This video is very helpful. Thank you very much.
