it's been so long since we saw improved structures, so I took it upon myself...

Mad props to Samuel H. He literally built all of this and the only time Toycat mentioned that he built it was when he had some criticism on the build, like at least say at the beginning who built it instead of just saying "Minecraft Won't Improve Structures & So I Did" and "it's been so long since we saw improved structures, so I took it upon myself...", sure its stated in the description, but who actually reads the description.
  • Man, remember when collecting a few pieces of mossy cobblestone was soo rare and special?! how times change
  • @ManicPandaz
I’ve been saying this for a while now. There will have to be a “outdated update”. Just like walking around my 9 year old MC world, you can find really poorly built and antiquated designs from 6 years ago. Things have changed and improved. Especially after the epic deep dark cities, the original structures are so outdated.
  • @StereoMadnessss
All of these ideas are just wonderful for the benefit of the game. Mojang needs to remaster the structures in 1.19 or 1.20.
  • @Stealth
Great ideas, i feel like mojang needs a team just to revamp old structures and mobs becuase they seem to never get around to it
  • @cactuspants5051
They should definitely add more puzzles to the jungle temple. I always loved the concept of solving various puzzles to get valuable loot, but it's unfortunate they didn't implement it better. Also the dungeon idea is really cool, considering the current dungeon is more of an ugly box than an actual dungeon.
  • The dungeon design might be my favorite, it’s so clever yet simple and I’d be so exited to find it in game!

nether fortress is just a no imo. it just shifts colors wildly and randomly, doesnt feel coherent. the shape is otherwise ok, except for interchanging between full and fence blocks every other block on the bridges

jungle temple looks great, maybe just replace the wooden parts with some cobblestone/stone bricks

pyramid also looks great, though it feels a bit plain on the outside. love seeing the husks getting used in there, though i do not think endermites belong in there at all

igloo isnt very iglooey shaped, looks weird with dark wood combined with snow. honestly a real improvement over the current one tho

witch hut is great, im a bit iffy on the mushrooms but totally sold on the interior

dungeon is cool, harder to conquer, i like it. i think theres more potential for decorating it as a dungeon though

stronghold 1000% should not have end stone (or other blocks only found in the end) in it at all. otherwise i see no problem with deepslate strongholds they look interesting. i like your new end portal room too

end city isnt too different from the existing one, im quite iffy on the hot air balloons.

i feel like the main big problem with most of these is the abundance of resources you can get from finding any of them. they probably need to be way more spaced out than they are currently in vanilla minecraft.
but yeah, anyway, cant wait for a datapack adding these structures to the game :]
  • @SquidStuff
That nether fortress idea is cool.
For jungle temples I think they should lean into puzzles more, make it so that you can’t mine certain things and you have to solve Puzzles and fight mobs like in Minecraft story mode
Edit: they can really lean into red stone and how improved it is now. It would be a good showcase almost for players after they beat the temple
Edit 2: and fossils should be more integrated with the archaeology update. Maybe they are planning something for that.
  • I would love to see this on an archeologically update. The structures have a lot of lore associated and so will the archeology mechanics when they’re added
  • @DefNotDemon
For the dessert pyramid, it would be cool if when u loot the warrior from all his favourite gear a special zombie spawns and starts to attack the player as if the corpse had gotten mad that someone was taking his stuff, idk
  • @jasonknowing
Desert biome needs more stuff added for sure, I love the desert villages, but besides that exploring the desert is usually pretty boring.

I also think the nether needs more stuff done to it like in the video. I think it would be cool if you could live in the nether or end realm more easily.
  • @bunk_foss
I think the witch hut was supposed to have a unique roof. It was never meant to have a normal roof, rather it's a rundown shack, with a roof that is covered in water, but the witch doesn't care. If you've ever seen a real flat roof, water pools on it, and makes young buildings look old. I think it fits the vibe.
  • @buckethead60
I think the main thing here is that the structures need more variation. They should be fun and exciting every time you go into them and not just be the same thing. I think they really did good with this idea with bastions, I haven't learned how to identify different types of bastions and which ones have which loot and stuff, so every time I find one I have no idea what to expect
  • @nocturnaliism
This is straight proof that we NEED a structures update... like obviously we can still keep the Og ones as rare variants for nostalgia purposes, but that doesn’t mean that structures such as mob spawner “dungeons,” ocean monuments, nether fortresses, strongholds (although the deep dark cities are kind of in a weird way updated strongholds), jungle pyramids and desert pyramids don’t deserve their own fun, unique, beautiful, challenging, exciting and rewarding counterparts... That once you’ve finished raiding, you can take them over as your base or even destroy it!!
  • @Smile-ov1us
Samuel H needs to turn these into a datapack...
  • @Bread-O5-3
The stronghold idea conflicts with the lore; end blocks shouldn't be used since the builders never left the end
  • I love they way these new structures can teach the player certain mechanics, like the jungle temple showing what effect arrows are, or how witch huts can help with explaining potions. And to add on to the fossil idea, it would be cool if sometimes they connected with the new archeology, maybe you see an archeology dig site and know to dig down and find a fossil.
  • @Miki_Naz
I think that structures like jungle and desert temples as well as the stronghold should be:
1: expanded with new rooms, traps, riddles, maybe even parkour sections
2: be procedurally generated to be a bit random and unique
3: utilize similar mechanic with mining fatigue as ocean monument, until the structure is conquered, to encourage players to interact with it's mechanics instead of just digging their way to loot.
