This song hits me hard

The line "covering their old heartbreaks with new tattoos." I do that with my tattoos. I call them my merit badges for surviving every hell because I deserve to commemorate the hard times so I don't forget them during the good. This song tugs at my heart for so many reasons, but that line hit me right in the face.

So I never talk at school and have absolutely zero friends but idc so there was a talent show and I wanted to show my school that I wasn't just a mute or whatever they call me so I sang this song and they were amazed and I loved that shocked face they all had best day of my life and I even gained a friend!

I saw no one talking about it but this song for me is really all about what a city you lived in meant for you: the places you knew by heart, the buildings that made you feel so small, the many times you hang out with your friends downtown, and every time you stopped to think: this city is so beautiful... Like, it's amazing how one place, one city, holds so much memories.
