Great capture! Thanks for sharing. Doing my best to germinate a few hundred seeds for distribution. Currently have about a hundred coontie ranging from 1/2" thick on the ball to 3" thick. I'd love to find out ways to encourage optimal growth. Please share if you do! I plant most of my coontie in a 2:1 of perlite and soil mix(usually peat moss or potting soil). All of my coontie are potted in plastic pots with 1/2" holes to allow for aeration. I'll treat them with various fertilizers, like miracle grow(as I've heard they love acid) or something like Plant Tone which is an "organic" granular fertilizer with microbes. I recently just read that Coontie pull their nitrogen from microbes... so I've been reading a little on that. Unfortunately I haven't kept consistent with my experiments. Any thoughts?
