I loved it when you ended with, "from coast to coast to coast." representing the three oceans Canada is surrounded by 👌

For those visiting Vancouver and not renting a vehicle, you can get from the airport to downtown on the SkyTrain, and from Canada Place there is a shuttle bus that can take you up to Capilano Suspension Bridge. A bit further north of Capilano Suspension Bridge is Grouse Mountain, which is a great year-round destination. Obviously in the winter you have all the winter sports, but in the summer there are hiking trails, disc golf, lumberjack shows, raptor shows, and much more.

Will be spending 6 days there shortly, using downtown as our base, then 5 days in whistler. Thanks for the video.

Capilano Suspension Bridge can be combined with going up the Skyride to Grouse Mountain, and also visiting Cleveland Dam and the fish hatchery (the Capilano loop walk). All of these are along Capilano road, and the public bus connections from downtown are fairly simple. There are also shuttles. You might even include stopping at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, because that is where the Seabus meets the 236 bus to Grouse, and there is a market and plaza with many restaurants.

I've only had the privilege of visiting Canada once, and that was an overnight stay in Vancouver before leaving on a cruise. Our time in Vancouver was brief but I absolutely fell in love with the city while there. Such a beautiful place with friendly people and so much to see! Hoping to return someday, and explore other places in Canada as well.

Thanks for the video, we just booked our flight for Vancouver in August, and had been looking around at some of the videos about the place. I will take these tips and information you provided. Aloha from Hawaii

I miss living in Vancouver and all of those things are great to do. I use to live right across from sunset beach
  • During the winter months van deusen gardens and the capilano suspension bridge are great places to go for Christmas lights and festivities

my idea as to why this city is so charming (aside the more moderate weather, lol) is that the topologically natural confinement forced the city to develop a somewhat denser urbanisation compared to many other North American cities. that's why it has a slight European touch to it (San Francisco would be another, similar example.) skyrocket high housing prices are an unfortunate side effect, though.
  • It has been 15 years since we last visited Vancouver but will be there May '24. Enjoyed it last time so I am sure we will love it again. Only 6 months to go.
