TO me a STYLISH OUTFIT is all about comfort, balance and a cherry on top - accessories.

In this video I explain my thought process behind putting an outfit together, my DOs and DONTs.

I hope you enjoy it!!

Let me know which one was your favourite and what are your fashion rules.

For the reference I’m 170cm (5’6”) tall and usually wear a size 36/10 unless I’m wearing mens clothes which are either my husband’s (size XL) or thrifted in random sizes.

Dear Mariola, for me you are the best among all the Youtube girls. I really love your style and always watch to get some inspiration. Because I am a Petite oversize is not for me nor are long coats - unfortunately. Short and boxy jackets suit me better. Greetings from Austria.

This is the first video that I have watched of yours and absolutely loved it! I am 56 years old and thought that I knew how to dress but your tips were absolutely wonderful! I have just subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching your previous videos.
  • I really appreciate how much thought you put into your very inspiring videos. I love a casual, minimal look also. I’ve gotten so many ideas from you, even outfits to wear at home on a daily basis. We get dressed every day, and our clothes should make us feel good about ourselves! Thank you!
  • I use a lot of these styling tips of yours, too: Adding at least one tailored/structured item to an outfit; Wearing good leather footwear, belt and bag, not just sneakers, going belt-less and using a canvas tote everyday; and Adding a “White collar”, or pearl jewelry or a silk scarf in lighter, more flattering colors, with darker tops, although I wear white tops most of the time. I don’t really like an athletic or other super-casual look, it’s just not my thing. I also wear dresses or skirt outfits far more than most of my fellow American women, who wear mostly jeans, leggings or sweatpants here. In my case, it’s for the much greater comfort of a draped bottom. Thanks for your always-excellent content!❤

Another fantastic video. I am learning so much from you. I like the minimalist style but don't always get it right. Thanks again for your positive energy and great styling advice.

Oh, Mariola, i so love your Chanel. I like how you dive into why and how and get to the core of what style really means. I like your showing examples and explaining why they work instead of just talking like lots of other so called stylists. I believe lots of women are not willing to do the initial work [ a lot of work actually] to determine their body type, limit the colour palette , keep it simple and resist all that doesn't work for them. then being consistent in keeping the style. If one doesn't make the initial effort its easy to get distracted when overwhelmed by huge amount of incredible amount of a variety of clothes in stores and shopping becomes a nightmare. I think REFUSAL is the key, also you opened my eyes to the fact that oversized tops should not be worn wit overnight bottoms, its too much of a contrast, Thank you Mariola for your advice on effortless style where quality and simplicity are my favourite ingredients

Thank you dear Mariola for the precious tips! Would you make a video about sneakers and loafers and how to match them to jeans and trousers? I always feel like sneakers and jeans look sloppy but there's got to be a sneaker that makes jeans look more elevated?

Beige washes out a lot of people, especially blondes so I'm glad you brought this up. Taupe is more flattering, it's a great mid-brown neutral that also goes well with denim, grey, darker shades of brown. I've always loved browns, currently experimenting with olive/khaki as I could only find my perfect velvet trouser suit in khaki. I've recently discovered your channel and subscribed of course, your English is excellent.

You've got an incredibly accessible approach to fashion and I appreciate it everytime I visit this channel. What I've learned overtime while assembling my capsule wardrobe is that limiting yourself actually gives so many possibilities and everything goes with everything most of the time. For example I stick to only two patterns, check and stripes, and it gives me enough variety whilst still going with my other clothes. I often see things trending in a given season like burgundy or pops of red atm, but even though I'm a fan, I don't add them to my wardrobe because I just know I won't reach for them enough to justify the purchase. That said, I have one red dress that makes me very happy❤ the colour I stayed away from for a long time is brown and now it is one of my staples. Great content as usual😁
  • Taupe is “my beige”, the cooler undertone suits my coloring better than those camel or other yellowish beiges. I often use the white collar trick, too, under colors that don’t suit me well, like dark ones. I wear much more white and light neutrals than dark ones because I’m always very pale.🙂

Love your video, your minimalistic style, your great helpful tips! Thank you so much!
  • I love accessorizing. Jewelry and scarves are the most fun for me. Like you I always wear my watch, earrings, and wedding rings but if I'm going somewhere in particular I will add bracelets, necklace (s), and occasionally a scarf. I just got a beautiful oversized cashmere scarf at Macys for $39 and can't wait to wear it.

Loving your style 🌺Sometimes (when I don't quite vibe with the edgy look I often wear), I'll soften my neutral tailored outfits with some pretty floral accessories, which also provides a pop of colour... I'm by no means a Fashionista but, (as a gentle nod to the fashion industry), I've just bought a dark grey scarf with a floral pattern in this Spring/Summer colour palette💐
