Rhiannon received her first lesson in the Grain Cart and Onyx had his first experience driving the Combine all on his own. From the outside looking in our Big Shiny John Deere equipment might make it look like some big evil corporate farm but in reality most farms are family operated. #WhoDidItBetter #farmkids

13 year old Onyx is officially operating the John Deere Combine solo with his own camera and all! #TheFutureOfFarming

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

This by far is the best episode! Zack’s parenting really shines through and his kids are natural personalities. OUTFREAKINGSTANDING!
  • Zach you have to be a very proud dad to have 2 of your kids helping on the farm.
  • @DGT1921
Good Dad = Good Kids. Our country needs more families like yours!!!!!!
  • @hypernoid2556
Gentile, patient, teaching, instilling confidence from a dad that loves them. Just think if all children had a dad like this.
  • @matthewh2326
Onyx's opening tune made me laugh. Like father like son, auto steer on, eating chips! Again much respect for Zacks patients in teaching the littles and for the littles for wanting to learn.
  • Look at Onyx still being a kid, driving a huge machine, all confident and alert, and stuffing his face with chips and wiping his hand into trousers! Amazing!
  • Wow this dad is what the world needs, cool calm and intelligent man, beautiful intelligent kids, fantastic
  • @20quid
It's crazy how in one part of the US kids are driving combines, and in other parts of the US parents are being arrested for letting their kids walk to school.

Outstanding job Mom and Dad teaching your kids the importance of work.
  • There is NOTHING as important as the look on her face as she knows she can do it! "Beans are easier"... her brother taught her well. GREAT JOB RHIANNON/ONYX! Great job Mom and Dad! (got a little choked up thinking of my kids growing up so fast) I'm the proud Grandpa of a college graduate and more to follow. God bless the Johnson Clan!
  • I about fell over laughing when Rhiannon was hollering at Onyx "You are fine!" She's already a great cart operator and young woman. She won't take any guff of the combine operator. Well done Zach and Becky!

And I'm impressed with Zach's patience in teaching the kids. Good example. 🙂
  • That's really nice to see two of the kids working in the fields. This was a enjoyable video to watch. Both parents should be feeling proud, good job!

Farm kids are the best kids, they both did fantastic! I learned so much growing up farming, you're setting them up for success!
  • @user-j4200
This is what growing up on a farm is all about. Respect to both you two and dad for the work you do.
  • Wow your an amazing dad, we live on 20 acres and I’m 12 yr old and my dad is never nice like this, all he does is scream and yell at me. He complains about stuff and claims he doesn’t do it even though he does. We make small squares on the farm and I was tedding hay and he jumps on the tractor and just starts yelling at me. Your kids are so lucky to have a dad like you! This would be my dream come true❤️❤️
  • @pdc023
She's a character. Her mom's looks and her dad's wit.
  • @Kevin-ex2yb
As a father that grew up on a farm and learn to operate from my father and grandfather it warms the soul to watch you teach your kids. It also makes me sad that my son will never get that kind of experience as we no longer have the farm.
  • @toast47624
As a dad teaching my boy to run an excavator properly it's an awesome experience sharing that time with your kids. Onyx impress me a great deal. To be that confident at 13 is very cool. Rhiannon likewise was taking that all in. I love her sassy spirit. I'd say most parents don't give there kids enough credit, with the right support and environment some kids can really excel.
  • No better place for a child to learn about life, build character and learn that true self esteem comes from personal accomplishment. Good job, Dad! 🙂
