I wasn't going to make this video but a lot of you in my last social media video asked me to make a one month update without social media so let's do it! In summary, I feel so much clearer mentally since deleting all of the apps and I even feel more human now that I am not wasting hours scrolling endlessly. Have a great day everyone!

Yeahhhhh the fact that we can't even remember what was on all those IG Stories we watched yesterday should be sign enough that social media is gettin' out of hand!
  • I've deleted social media for 30 days and it was the most productive month of my life

I think your video was successful because most people are always on social media, but they are there because of addiction and not because they love being there, and they know it

youtube is not at all like other social media. it takes a lot of effort to create successful youtube content, and a lot of the content is much more useful than anything on tiktok or instagram.

I think that if more people do not use social media, or put a very low time limit for use, there will be a huge change in our society, and people will have a lot more mental health, and they will be much more present in their real life.
  • this is truly a sign from the universe. I was literally JUST thinking about taking a hiatus.

You know that thing in movies where someone pulls a book out of a bookshelf and a door opens with a secret room behind it? That room is called free time and the book you pulled is deleting social media.

When you realize that what you see on social media from others is mostly projecting of what they want there life to look like, it helps you see that almost everyone is struggling in similar ways. So don’t be discouraged by thinking everyone has amazing lives. They are just glimpses of a moment.

I took the plunge just a week ago, and, honestly, I don't miss it. I have the numbers of those who I care about, and I don't get depressed seeing random people that I barely know do random stuff. Thanks for the nudge, Lucy!

I deleted a year ago and it’s probably the healthiest thing I’ve done for my mental health.
  • Social media is a great way to stay in contact with friends but it's so fake..it really triggers me sometimes 😅 !! In 2019 I stopped uploading photos of myself on Instagram and my mental help improved sooo much!

I love your accent. I had to check your bio bc at first I thought it was a scandinavian accent, and then I thought just a scottish accent. Now I see! x

I permanently deleted social media a week ago and honestly it’s been super hard for me. i haven’t heard from any of my friends for the entire week & i gave them my number to text me so it’s been upsetting realising this!
  • Back in September, after my dad died, I deleted all my socials and i fucking loved it. I recently redownloaded them and wow do i feel miserable going back on them. I feel like a robot and just wasting my time and life away on pointless shit. Everyone really does need to take a BIG step back from it all and start living in the moment cause i feel like life gets better without it and stuff starts finally happening!

Older guy here! Deleted social media 4 years ago. It just feels like life before social media. Interesting to hear from the perspective of someone younger.

YouTube is not a social media because with YouTube you can actually learn something
