  • If he was from a poor family he would have once gone to jail with a criminal record haunting him for life.
  • @doit9854
My grandfather used to say "they're all corrupt". I thought he was a bit off his rocker. My grandfather was spot on.
  • As a former" clothing challenged " person. I found myself laughing out loud.
  • "A clothing challenged dancer..." You're so hilariously witty! I look forward to every episode and after finding your podcast, I'm spending more time "with you" and your podcast mates than anyone else! 😉😂 Thanks so much for your awesome videos, sincerely!

"The navy was positive that breaking their own rules for Hunter was a great idea. He was going to be an excellent naval officer with a long and distinguished career. He was going to stand out from the other new officers. Well, the navy was right about the last point: On Hunter's first day on the naval base, he stood out by testing positive for cocaine." 🤣
  • I am a recovered meth addict. I didn't quit using it until I made the decision to stop using it for myself. No one else made me use it or stop using it. Self accountability is vital no matter what trauma anyone has gone through. I've been through things too and it's not been easy all the time but we can't go on letting our pasts control us. We are responsible for ourselves.
  • I find it interesting that his traumatic brain injury was not taken more into account when explaining his impulsivity.
  • @sweettea527
I love how Dr. Grande is effortlessly funny! And he has such a calming voice!
  • As a survivor of traumatic brain injury, I am aware that addictive behavior is a real danger. Being aware of that, I have actively avoided drugs, and greatly limited my use of alcohol whenever it has seemed problematic. Whatever our circumstances, we are responsible for our own choices.
  • @ReinEngel
Hunter was probably doing drugs while his father was saying anyone with a single rock of crack should automatically be imprisoned for five years. Absolutely despicable.
  • @a.j.6432
"...Hunter had a daughter with a clothing challenged dancer..." I had to rewind to make sure that's what you actually said Dr. Grande! Pure Gold!
  • @jowells1601
Love, love your clever and dry sense of humor!! Thanks!
  • All the while, his father had bragged about his crime bill that mandated five years in prison for a possession of crack “the size of a quarter.” Those people are beyond brazen.
  • @imdoneplus
As a former substance abuser it bugs me that he didn’t take responsibility for his actions. As much as I don’t like to admit it, that amount of blame shifting is the type of thing that always ends in relapse. You can have external forces and experiences, that may have made substance abuse make sense, but ultimately it’s your inability to cope along with the strong chemicals that change how your brain works, that causes long term substance abuse; it’s a 2 part thing and part of that is your fault. If you don’t acknowledge that you’re screwed.
  • Like father like son, not taking responsibility for their behavior , and blaming others
  • “A clothing challenged dancer.” You’ve just gained a subscriber and have earned an A for your clever story telling.
  • @B_Bodziak
I can't believe he was admitted to the US Naval Officer Reserve when he was 43 yo. The cutoff used to be 26yo. That's more than just making a little exception.
  • He's a rich kid who's never been held accountable for his actions. He's never going to learn, he just doesn't care about other people. Everything has been handed to him his whole life. I feel zero empathy for this man, he's a child who refuses to grow up.
  • Doc, your analyses are spot on and your background informationals, sprinkled with a pinch of sarcasm, are very interesting and shockingly honest
  • Good job, BRAVO! Excellent breakdown of the Hunter Saga. Your cogent, nuanced and unemotional approach to your subjects is greatly appreciated.
