She deserves this role... her singing is 10/10 for me.. cannot wait to go to theater to watch this movie and enjoy her vocals.

I remember when they announced that Halle Bailey would be Ariel I immediately went to find videos of her singing, because to me Ariel is all about the voice. I knew the moment I heard her voice that she was the absolute perfect person to cast as Ariel. Melissa McCarthy is the same perfect casting as Ursula. I cannot wait to see the movie- the end of May cannot come soon enough.

FACT FUN: Director Rob Marshall was so captivated and mesmerized by Halle and Chloë powerful performance at the Grammy and decided to hire her for this iconic role...I have faith in the director because his partnership with Disney going extremely well and he doesn't disappoint when it comes to creating well-received musicals and visual effects. I truly loved his directing of Chicago, Into the Woods and one of the Pirates Of Caribbean films. I truly don't have a problem with the ethnicity change of a fictional character because Ariel doesn't really have a set race.

When I heard folks get so upset over the casting of Ariel, that was my first indication that I was gonna go see this one. Now that we've got a full trailer....man. I'm a 44 year old straight white guy. I only mention that to point out that I'm probably not in the typical demographic for this type of movie. When I tell you I will be there on opening weekend in front of the biggest screen possible with an extra large bucket of popcorn, I mean every word of it. So excited for this movie!❤
