  • When I have conversations about Cleansing vs. Banishing, I use the imagery of cleaning a fridge. Your fridge needs maintenence to be kept clean. You get little hairs and little bits of food that drop in your fridge, little small smudges that need to be wiped out with a cleaning cloth. That's cleansing. Cleaning up the dirty or stale leavings that accumulate on their own. Once in a while when you clean your fridge, you discover that you have food in the bottom that's moldy. Throwing it out is still cleansing. Banishing is when you have something in your fridge that is generating mess. It's exuding a powerful smell, it's leaking, it's rotting the food around it. You can't just wipe it up, you need to get in there and kick it out and clean it up afterwards. You can't just clean up around it, because it's generating this ick. More advanced banishings, like closer to an exorcism, is when the fridge itself has something in the coils or air filter or whatever that's growing in there. It's not something you can wipe up, and it's not as easy as just throwing something out, it's IN the machine. The fridge as a machine needs to be repaired, refurbished, and thoroughly worked on. And warding, keeping things out, is like when you put your baking soda in there to soak up the bad smells, or things you put in the fridge to keep things fresh. Warding, or certain types of protection, are there to hold back most things that need to be cleansed or banished.

“A witch ought never to be frightened in the darkest forest, Granny Weatherwax had once told her, because she should be sure in her soul that the most terrifying thing in the forest was her.” — Wintersmith, by Terry Pratchett.
  • When I first moved into my current place, whenever I smoke cleansed I would just feel this irritated but non-malicious presence lurking in the background. I realized it only happened during smoke cleansing. I knew some sort of spirit was in the home but since it never did anything to disturb me or my family, I didn't know what to do with it. So I just sat on it and waited for it to reveal itself. It eventual did a month after moving in and it scared the living crap out of me as it was watching me and my husband sleep in the open doorway to the bedroom. The next morning, I confronted it and gave it an offering of tea to sit and talk with me. I came to find out that it was a very old land spirt that just happened to take up residency in my home after it's land was developed. We came to an agreement to be neutral roommates with some healthy boundaries. They are not allowed within the bedroom at all and I don't smoke cleanse their designated alter space (I made a little house for them to reside in during my home cleansing's). In return they keep out unwanted spirits and protect the house. It's been nice to not have to cleanse and protect my home as often because of my spirit roommate. The land spirit keeps to itself and doesn't interfere at all with my families life. They remind me a lot of like a lazy sleeping cat who has a particular space in the house they reside in and occasionally gets up and walks around just to observes its humans.
  • For those who aren’t sensitive to spirits and energies, effective divination methods are your best friend.
  • I do like that you brought up being emotionally intelligent about banishing real people. I've seen a lot of instances where people, particularly in suburban areas, who think they're justified in driving others out when in actuality the person considering the banishing is actually the toxic one.
  • My child is passively listening in the background and talking back to you.. "YEAH SHE COVERED THAT IN THE BEGINNING...the beginning man!'' 🤣😂🤣 he's 4

Note: Professional means they get paid, not that they know what they’re doing. Get an Experienced practitioner, professional or not.

I've used a spray of clove, orange, lavender, amethyst water and witch-hazel with a lot of success. I've used it with positive results up to a level five.

As the owner of an antique store, this video is going into my often used spell kit! We get things in several times a year that are not alone.
  • Sounds like cleansing is like sweeping/mopping the floor, and banishing is scrubbing out a stubborn stain with some steel wool. Would love to get help learning more about setting up protections and wards. These videos have been very helpful.

My sister and I have entities that come and go from the house- some play with the cats and some take/move stuff. We always state out loud that only neutral/positive entities are welcome and we ask them to leave us alone, that’s worked well for us. If they take or move stuff we ask for it back and usually in a day or two it pops up :) very glad we haven’t had to deal with anything scary though

I use a simmer pot. Water charged with intent, a whole orange chopped up into quarters or eighths depending on how big your pot is, some clove, and some almond extract but just a little. My house smells amazing and I'm banishing all the old bad stuff to bring in the new good ones.
  • This video is amazing, its like a lecture on Banishing and I love it! Just packed full of such good information. To anyone reading this before starting the video, be sure to have something to take notes because this is great stuff!
  • Thank you, Olivia! A 44-minutes video packed with information? WHAT A TREAT 🤩 I just watched it once, gonna rewatch it and jot down notes hehe

I’m very protective of my space since I was a teenager. Anytime I feel a little poke pokey of a spirit… I always state out loud- did I say you could come in my space? I most certainly did not. Out out 🤣🤣🤣 usually the spirits get ruffled and says fine and goes away. If they come back… I’m like did I stutter? 🤷🏼‍♀️ These are harmless spirits I should say. If it’s anything more full banishment will happen. Esp a watcher.
  • @fkn__wolf
A few years ago, I woke up from a dream and had a strange anxiety come over me. These "watchers" you talked about match the description of what I felt. They are definitely creepy... but glad that I'm not alone in experiencing such a thing.
  • I have a friend who is a medium and shaman, who happens to say a lot of the same things you just said, regarding spirits/entities, i.e., the majority of them are benign and harmless, mainly annoying and attention seeking if they are bothersome. According to her they can often be reasoned with just conversationally. The malicious ones, as you said, are extremely rare. You mentioned noise as a way to banish: drumming is something that appeals to me; my shaman friend uses it to cleanse and to go into trance states (which she calls going into the underworld). I can vouch that sound absolutely does change the vibration or energy of a space. My practice is atheistic and Celtic, but I do enjoy learning from different cultures, such as Native American or Appalachian.
  • @enas7547
I did a protection spell 3 days ago & the effects have been astounding that I never thought it was possible & my energy is bright & free again. This person that was causing so much pain for me is gone with just cleansing so I’m looking forward to what a powerful banishing spell can do.
  • Your explanation made banishing sound a lot more doable, thank you Olivia!
  • @SimpleMandy
Loved this so much! I did get a bit of a giggle about banging pots and pants as this is usually one of my favorite methods. Just because it's fun as hell to walk around banging pots and pants singing "get the bleep out!"
