  • im a highschool senior whose been struggling with a career path for a while now and i can honestly say this major has no flaws! i love it
  • @NaKaiJelani
I’m a current freshman who was a Biology pre-med major but took a Marketing course in high school and made it my 2nd top major I’d switch to if I was uninterested in Bio. Well within like 5 weeks of the first semester I said “I’m switching” 😂 And since then I’ve been pushing soo hard. Did an apprenticeship for ~5 months with a skincare company in NYC, applied on LinkedIn and Indeed for similar actual internships (even though my uni doesn’t allow college credits until I’m a sophomore or junior :/) and heard back from 6! Currently doing 2 now, a clothing one and one with a pretty big cosmetics retailer. I also networked like crazy and may have some fall and spring internships already set up! Definitely so happy I switched🥺💕

me: googles what its like to major in marketing Sophia: "communications is basically the same thing as marketing but its more writing and no math" me: changes my career plans
  • ugh girl as a double major in marketing and communications, this video was so accurate i literally was like OMG SO TRUE to my screen while watching. like i literally felt it so hard when you said you go to school but weren’t learning marketing even though you were interested. i am going through the same thing rn and have only really learned through the one internship i had where i was a brands intern for a tik tok agency and it was soo fun!

I'm in grade ten, and need to start considering careers, and i've always been interested in marketing, so this was very interesting to hear
  • @agilmore1511
As someone that is studying marketing and not entirely sure what they are learning, this was a huge encouragement. Thanks

I'm about to become a graduate of a business degree and when I had classes on marketing that's when I found my niche. Within business you can do pretty much anything but it becomes boring after awhile. Marketing is fun and creative! Adore marketing a lot.
  • @bigbuffben4701
Just applied to college with a major in Marketing! Cheers haha!
  • @navyavij
i was watching this because i’m planning on becoming a marketing major, and halfway through i realised we’re going to the same university! rutgers is huge man
  • I really needed this video! Everyone just viewed me as this creative fun person and therefore said that I should go into marketing, and though I consider myself to be a creative person, I really do value the research and number-crunching behind marketing. I am currently going to major in finance and minor in marketing, but I am really hoping to do more and more marketing in the future. Insightful video! Thx

I wanna do marketing so bad but my dream is to live in a rich neighborhood and hang out with friends at fancy restaurants with designer on. I'm nervous marketing won't make that dream happen and I'll be living like a normal person like everyone else. I'm also scared bc I have social anxiety and communication is a very key role in marketing. I'm nervous I won't get paid well and I'll just have a tough time with anxiety. But I really hope to be able to speak with people freely in the future.

Ahhh I feel you when you said you were confused about defining marketing. I’m a sophomore and I was really looking for a guide before actually declaring marketing management as my major. Thank you.
  • @nycto16
Watching someone talking about your major, and then watching them getting succeed in the field is the direct motivational source! If anyone wondering why she's not uploading, what she's doing, I checked her linkedin... she's Brand Marketing Manager at Adidas which is like a dream job for many marketing majors 😍

Currently, I'm having trouble with choosing the right “course” for me. I'm desperate to avoid mistakes while establishing my career, it's making me feel pressured, I'm scared to fail my family (because I can feel that they've had this unhealthy obsession with academic performances and report cards). It is not my intention to make them feel that they wasted years of paying for my tuition just for me to fail. Furthermore, I've been considering business ever since, I was passionate when it comes about business despite my lack of knowledge (and I'm still learning). Not only that, but I became aware of Marketing last year, and did a little research regarding the course, and I immediately considered it as my top course. Why Marketing? Honestly, I feel like I'm mindlessly deciding. But when we talk about business, plenty of people think that it's easy, that business is all about money, all about financial stability, they barely recognize the beauty of marketing. I want thrills, but I also hate too many challenges. I feel like doing some research about Marketing, or knowing things that are related to it, gives me a thrill. And it's scary to know that I'm doing things out of curiosity. I want to avoid wasting my time choosing wrong directions, but I'm also wasting my time by not exploring. I'm not good at maths, but I like to learn about establishing a good relationship/communication with strangers (in which I describe as my “clients”). And also, I've been seeing myself working inside a company (probably influenced by movies and books that I've read). Whatever happens in the future, I hope I'm doing well. I hope I won't regret my decisions and despite having drawbacks, I hope I'll be able to learn something new. To students like me, who are having hard time deciding what path to choose. May we all have the inner peace one day. We can all make it through.

Currently an accounting major at Rutgers University (hi alumna!) and this video just gave me that push to change my major to marketing. I feel like I always had a creative personality but never had a way to channel it and I feet like a robot taking accounting and thinking about my future being stuck at a desk crunching numbers was not how I envisioned it. I have always had an interest in marketing but this video made me realize that there is much strategical creativity that does go into the field and now I am even more drawn to it!
  • @oliviarodrighoe
Thank you so much for making this video and sharing your experience! You've worked and interned for so many amazing companies and I was wondering if you were able to make a video diving more into that. For example how you got those placements, what you included in your resume/portfolio, how to stand out in interviews, networking etc. Thanks so much!
  • @siamish4460
Marketing is the process of identifying customer wants and satisfying them profitably
  • I am so glad that I found this video. I am currently in college and I'm having that "hold up, what is it that I'm doing" moment, and you helped break it down. You changed my mind to stick with it :)
  • I'm a marketing major right now, graduating in the spring. I am so glad I came across this video. There are so many things that people don't know about it. It's just so interesting all the aspects of marketing. Thank you for this video!!
